i wouldn't normally post about the opening of a street team, but i know a lot of you guys here like dry cell, so i thought i'd let you know that they just started opened one yesterday, and are looking for kids who want to help promote, as well as regional and state team leaders...

here's the message from dave (new lead singer):

What’s up everyone, it’s Dave. I’ve been checking the boards and what not to see what y’all are saying. First off, (even though I’m the “new guy”) thanks for all of your love, support and dedication. Secondly, it’s time to start promoting again.

So as of today, we’re starting the new OFFICIAL Dry Cell street team. We’re asking for anyone who would be willing to dedicate some time, and effort to take DRY CELL to the top of the music world.

All applicants will be asked to do such projects as:

-Hand out flyers in your state for an upcoming DC show
-Call into local radio stations to request DC songs
-Go to local concerts and spread the “good word” about DC
-Hand out various promotional materials (i.e. stickers, t-shirts, and stuff like that)
    -And who knows what else?!?!?!

    ==================================================

If interested, please send us an e-mail to [email protected] with the following information.
(fields with * are required information we need in order to have YOU on our team.)

    *Name
    *State
    *Country
    *City
    *Zip Code
    *E-mail address
    *Age
    Sex
-Nearest Rock radio station, and call numbers (ex. 93.7FM KXXR Minneapolis St. Paul)
    *Address
-A short list of local music directories such as websites and other means of promotion

    ==================================================

All members will qualify to win free DC merchandise, meet & greet passes, and be entered into various DC contests to win some really cool DC stuff.

We’re also looking for Regional and State street team leaders. If you’d like that position, please also add a paragraph to your e-mail on why we should pick a fine person such as yourself!! Now what we mean by Regional and State is; A leader for certain areas of the U.S. and Others to be in charge of a few states. This will require that you keep in close contact with state leaders to make sure everyone is staying current and up to date on DC happenings etc.
State street team leaders will be in charge of that state, and keeping street team members in their state up to date with DC events, and happenings. So, if you’re interested send us an extra paragraph with the original questions about yourself, and why you think you’d be a good leader.

And just as a quick note, we’ll have a new website up and running within a few months. It will be the official Dry Cell website where you can find the latest news, media, tour info, etc. So keep an eye out and we’ll keep YOU posted.

So please, take some time, and JOIN US TODAY!!!! Help DRY CELL become the biggest band in the world!!!!

Much love and respect to all of you for supporting us!
-Dave, on be-half of DRY CELL

    I guess so.

I, personally, would've liked if they went back to Beyond Control, because that name is just so damn awesome. But Dry Cell has a uniqueness to it, just like Linkin Park, so I like that a lot, too.

Dry Cell reminds me of the term "raw" for some reason, and I really think they should stick with it. Just like Chester said, this style of music is really "fresh."

they've been debating on the name change for a long time and thought it might be best to just go with a new one since they're basically starting over from scratch... but now it looks like they're probably just going to keep it.

they have a bunch of new songs done that need to be mastered and recorded, and hopefully they'll be able to release some new stuff soon... ohhh yessss B)

Edit: By the way, if you want to hear Jeff's (former Dry Cell singer) new band Acrylic, you can check them out on Pure Volume here: purevolume.com/acrylic

I downloaded the three songs on that site and I really like what I'm hearing.

A lot of people aren't into his band as much, and you can see why with Acrylic being completely different than Dry Cell. It's a lot more melodic and more Alternative I guess you could call it...

I don't think they'd accept anyone from Eastern Canada.. I'd love to help, though. Dry Cell are incredible.

If they're accepting people from Europe, Asia, and Australia, I think they'd take you in. ;)

I have only heard "Brave" by Dry Cell. It is an awesome song. It reminded me of early Linkin Park.

I cannot BELIEVE their label dropped them! I have their CD Disconnected and it's great. I really thought they'd be on top by now. I also have the Body Crumbles (The Humble Brothers Remix). Hopefully the new songs rock as hard as the old ones. I'm going to sign up for the Team (my first street team signup).

Warner Bros. didn't drop them. Both Dry Cell and Warner parted ways peacefully and with good intentions.

only thing is that dry cell HATES warner bros. there's a whole giant mess behind it all and let's just say it's good the band got out when they did... the label still won't give the band back some of their merch they own. for example, there was a big stack of original disconnected cd's, and where do they sit? oh yes, somewhere within the offices of warner. bleh.

anyway... some fans posted an mp3 of a demo dave did with his old band dysfunction 212, so if you head to our message board, you can find the link to that.

otherwise, his old band's site is www.d212music.com

Maybe when Dry Cell becomes huge with Sony/Epic, they'll have enough cash to buy back the rights to their music.
