Dreams: There once was a boy of just sixteen His dream was to become the next big thing He spent hours every day playin’ his guitar And dreaming of being a huge rock star But his dreams were shattered the day his parents died From there onwards he was hollow inside He could of been dead too cos there was nothin’ there Just an emotionless grin and a vacant stare At the funeral he didn’t even cry at all He just sat and stared at the grey stone floor And on the car ride back to his new home He realised he was now completely alone Then one day he didn’t come home from school Four weeks he was missing until he was found in a ditch pool Doctors said he had died of an overdose And next to his body they found a little floating note It read, “I’m going home to mum and dad” His parents had meant more to him than anything he ever had More than his dreams of stage diving and mosh pits More than he wanted to get famous and rich But now his dreams are nothing at all Just a dusty guitar and a slash poster on the wall And as time goes by we learn from his tale That dreams and lives can instantly fail Dreams… Ever-longing shadows in your mind Dreams… Don’t come true half of the time Dreaming… Of a better tomorrow Hoping… We can break free of this sorrow There once was a girl of just sixteen Her dream was to become the next big thing She spent hours after school in acting class Her teacher always said that she could learn fast However this actress was not to be Because of her boyfriend living dangerously He got stabbed, she was emotionally destroyed Her soul was shattered like a broken toy From there onwards she was nothing but a shell She Just sat down silently going through hell She was so insecure, she didn’t know what to do She just kept on thinking trying to get a clue But no matter what she did she couldn’t bare her life So she became one of the bad types On the corner of a dark street, two fifty an hour Selling herself to middle-aged cowards Every night it was all the same routine Every second floating further away from her dream But it all came to an end this one october night When some sick bastard decided to pay with his knife And now that’s left is just a memory of pain More melancholy than a serenade from Kurt Cobain But as time goes by we learn from her tale That dreams and lives can instantly fail Dreams… Ever-longing shadows in your mind Dreams… Don’t come true half of the time Dreaming… Of a better tomorrow Hoping… We can break free of this sorrow Dreams or nightmares, they bring the same pain Just images in your head that fuck with your brain But if they do come true they should be given to those who need The people who need love, water and to feed Those who pray to god every night and day They just wanna know someone’s listening to what they have to say If we can make something impossible come true There’s nothing that the human race can’t do There’s nothing that we can’t do Dreams… Ever-longing shadows in your mind Dreams… Don’t come true half of the time Dreaming… Of a better tomorrow Hoping… We can break free of this sorrow Dreams… Ever-longing lights in your mind Dreams… Can come true half of the time Dreaming… Of a better tomorrow Hoping… We can break free of this sorrow
