Downloading in Canada

    Not sure if this is the right place for this but is downloading movies legal in Canada, or just music? Also is downloading music only legal using P2P software, or is it okay using ftp as well?

    As of right now, downloading music is legal in Canada. As for your other question, I don't know.

    Downloading music for personal use is legal in Canada. I don't think movies are though.
    In Canada ftp and p2p are legal. If you can get it, its yours.

    Isn't MPAA the Motion Picture Association of America. Do they really have any power in Canada?

    No, but there's probably some Canadian no-name association like Canada's RIAA.

    They'll come to your house and beat you with hockey sticks until you promise to delete them. :lol:

    From what I know, downloading music in Canada is legal, but uploading is not.

    Considering most movies are made by American movie distributors, I don't think there's much of a problem for us downloading movies either.
