Female fronted alternative metal/post-grunge/hard rock type bands other than Flyleaf? I thought I'd start this thread after the success that other poster had with the Metalcore one. And I've been looking for more of these bands for ages. Mine is a harder topic though, as there are far less... and its more specific. But if you know any, that'd be swell.
I don't see a metalcore female fronted band thread. All I see is a thread which is asking for ANY female fronted bands. Which I'm sure if you just looked into some of the bands in that thread, you'd find a wealth of what you're looking for.
Here it is, for those not willing to search back a page. http://www.lpassociation.com/forums/showthread.php?t=29993
I know about that thread. I contributed to it. But very few of the bands in there are really what I was looking for. I don't really like the ultra-heavy metalcore stuff (Eyes set to kill and In This Moment being the exceptions) and I don't like symphonic or gothic metal. Was more looking for post-grunge, alternative metal type stuff.
guano apes - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XvfYrKo1KGs&feature=related http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xfxlzq2Nfno&feature=related exilia - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jkiH8b8d7fc (my fav song from them) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dxe_uPd39RE both are quite well known, not some underground/friends band and fit your request perfectly i think.
Dude. Your a champ. That's the style that I like. Guano Apes are awesome. And Exilia are decent too. I'd actually rejected Exilia before just because I didn't like the sound of their wikipedia page. Guess that shows that you should always hear the music.
Bellusira from Australia are right up your alley. http://www.myspace.com/bellusira I have their EP if you want it, they're unsigned so they'll be cool with me sharing it, me and my friends got our copies free from the bassist haha.
@tomo oh and you should search for guano apes best of album. they have one and it would provide you with their best songs
Thanks guys. Jordan: I like them. If you could hook me up with the EP, that'd be sweet. Trumtram: I may just do that.
