We know LP will tour South America and a lot of the Eastern Hemisphere in late 2010/early 2011. Then they will tour the U.S. to promote A Thousand Suns. LP's history would then suggest that they may do Projekt Revolution/another tour. However, that would take time away from starting a very likely 5th album. So do you want them to basically go on 2 tours or go on 1 tour and have them right back in the studio? I would vote they skip Projekt Rev and get back to the studio, then tour again when that album is done. Of course, it's easy for me to say because PR never comes to my location.
How dare you spell it politically correctly. It's ProjeKt Revolution! And hell yes I want a PR 2011. It could just be like they did in 2008, a Winter Arena Tour, some festivals, and then straight into Projekt Rev summer fiesta.
It would depend. 1 - Touring would mean probably them getting more money, but then again wearing the band out a little bit. 2 - Going straight back into the studio would seem a little rushed. Its like "we've done this album now straight onto the next one".
And that would be bad because...? . It still would be late 2011 (if they hypothetically didn't do PR 2011). So that would be an entire year from now. That's plenty of time to enjoy ATS and crave a new album.
They WILL do Projekt Rev over the summer. I'm almost 100% sure of it. LP won't go back into the studio right away. It would make no sense to not tour in the US at all when the album is released.
Quote from Rolling Stone article by Chester: "At this point we're writing such great music that I almost want to go do 50 shows around the world and then get right back into making another record," Bennington says. "Once the ball starts rolling, it's all I want. It's like a drug." So I wouldn't be 100% sure about it. I suppose this was a while ago but still! You guys act like they aren't touring the US. They are! PR would be a second tour. I only need to see them promoting the same album once. Then they can make new music, and promote that. Maybe they skip PR in 2011 but bring it back 2012/13. Would that be the end of the world?
being as there hasnt been a Projekt Revolution in 2 years, i say we are overdue for one. That tour is probably one of the best ones out there, and i have yet to go to one, and have been waiting to see Linkin Park for years. I cant really travel anywhere to see them either, since I am a poor sap, who only makes minimum wage at Kmart, and can't afford to travel around the US just to see one concert.
http://linkinpark.com/ On the pre order page they talk about the benefits of pre ordering via LP.com: EVERY PURCHASE INCLUDES: -Instant download of 'The Catalyst' MP3 -The MP3 version of the album delivered first - even with skate deck or tee purchase -Early access to purchase tickets for shows on the band’s upcoming US tour -Access to preview clips of each song on the album beginning weeks before release date Mike has also mentioned an upcoming U.S. tour (on his blog I think?) And LP has always toured the whole world after every album release.
Upcoming US tour could be Projekt Revolution itself. And I wouldn't take Chester's comment too seriously. They were saying the same stuff when MTM came out.
I doubt it. I'm thinking that they'll announce it in November, making it a winter arena tour rather than a summer multistage bonanza.
