Do you think the new album will have some electronic songs?

And experimental tracks, and some soft things too. For some reason I'm expecting all of it to be like GATS

With good reason. The band have hinted several times now that the album is all heavy rock, all the way through, and have yet to say anything to the contrary.

I'd say that GATS is experimental by quite a margin for LP standards. It's just not electronic-experimental.

But, as far as LP is concerned, it is quite uncommon for them to make songs with

    a) Technical drumming
    b) 200 bpm tempo
    c) 2-min long intros and 6min total running-time
    d) Guitar solos (first time ever in a heavy song actually)
    e) Special guest
    f) Songs that combine both heaviness and long duration (their longest heavy song ever actually)
    g) Organic and raw unpolished songs (aside from MTM)
    h) A7X / Powermetal-esque / "Whatever you want to call it " guitar riffs (first time ever actually)
    i) 5/4 time signature (I guess?)

That said, yes, I think there will be softer songs and more electronic elements on the record. Perhaps less than on the last few albums. But it's LP we're talking about, you know, the band that put songs like Given Up or Victimized on the same records as songs like In Between or Roads Untraveled :)

As long as the band is rocking the fuck out as hard as they are in GATS I don't care if they play with nothing but cowbells.

Honestly, I don't think there will be much electronic stuff going on with this album. I think Mike/LP had a vision of what they wanted to make with this album and they stuck with it.

I don't know, they've referred to energy and loudness and getting Brad to play "more guitar" and jamming and recording to tape, but they've never particularly said they are ditching electronic completely.

    *We need more crickets* :isee:

Seriously, LP's electronic elements is part of their signature sound.. there's no way it will be diminished in the new record..

On the subject, I hope Mr. Hahn isn't more or less redundant on this release!
