Yes but not for another 20+ years I'd assume.

If they keep going strong for another 20 or so years, yes.

i would really like linkin park to make it, but for some reason i think LP are displaying too much electronic elements in their music, for me i really like it but critics hate it and i think linkin park will be judged on all their albums. my opinion of course.

I sort of agree. Linkin Park gets shit from a lot of people around the world, but they inexplicably are one of the biggest bands in the world. Go figure.

I don't think so, too many haters and not critically acclaimed.

Of course not. Never in a thousand years. It's evident why.

You'd be a fool to think they wouldn't. Have to be realistic here as they are already more popular than some that are already in, but like someone said, not for another 20 years or so.

There are rappers in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame now, so I don't think the electronic elements will affect their chances.

It's utterly meaningless, though. There are still so many great and influential bands from the 70s and earlier that aren't in it because they don't appeal to the baby-boomer asshats who are in charge of voting.

when i talk to people at school they always say "i like the old linkin park". so if they highly overlook the major progress that meteora and hybrid theory have then they have a great chance of being in the hall of fame :awesome:

Maybe one day. I voted no, but I do suppose they could if they keep producing hit, creative albums.

Linkin Park is eligible for induction in 2025. That said, I don't think they'll ever be in the Rock 'n' Roll Hall of Fame, but that's just as they stand now. Who knows? Maybe in ten years, they'll be more critically acclaimed and will have actually released groundbreaking albums.

Sadly it's not all about talent.

Usually has to do with popularity.

Linkin Park is flirting with Rock and Roll HoF territory in my opinion.

They're probably still a little too close to pop/alternative, but if they continue pushing themselves I think they could make it. But they're teetering.

Yes. They revolutionized and revived rock into mainstream and radio during the early 2000s and still stands today as one of few rock bands that even pop-listeners listen to. But they won't be inducted until Chester turn 67 or something.

Why isn't there a "maybe" option on this poll?

Depends on what the state of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame is when LP becomes eligible in 2025. If the induction process pretty much consists of Jann Wenner and his cronies giving the thumbs up or thumbs down to artists they like/dislike like they're pretending to be Caesar, as the process basically is today, I'd say probably not. If the Hall of Fame actually shifts gears and starts inducting artists based on key things like album sales, chart performance, and critical acclaim (which would subsequently get artists like Rush, KISS, and Deep Purple in there long before LP), they obviously stand a better chance.
