Well I'd be interested to know if anyone on the forums suffers from migraines, like me, and would like to share what symptoms they get with them, why they get them, and how they prevent/deal with them. I know hardly anything about why mine occur and I never know when they're going to and I've seen the doctor abuot them and he doesn't know either =/. I started getting them about 3 years ago and ever since my first one, the symptoms have gone in the order as follows: -Firstly I suddenly relise my vision has gone from normal to not what it's meant to be and that bits of what I'm looking at are invisible like if I look at some writing, I cannot see some of the words. A sort of partial blindness (auras they're called) - This lasts for about 30 minutes until I get the worst headache imagineable (still with the partial blindness) and the headache lasts for about 5 hours - Within about 2 hours the partial blindness has stopped but I still have a really bad headache and sometimes get confused - Then I start throwing up (which varies very much, sometimes it can be only once, sometimes as many as about 15 times) And that's it until I feel better, which Is usually about 8 hours after I got the initial blindness. Whenever I get them now, I go straight to bed so I can try and be asleep for what I can of it because I cannot stand being awake, it just hurts so much. Anyway I don't get these very often, but I've started getting them every few weeks because of all the stress of exams (had one last night). But before that they only occured probably once every 6 months (except for when they started when they occured every few weeks for about half a year). Migraines are a bit of a shithead to have and are also still very unknown as to what causes them, expecially as its different in every person. I don't think I'll have these all my life either (hopefully). I suffer alot of stress at home and I think it's why I started getting them. I'm also wondering if it's usual for people to get floaters nearly all the time (when you look at a bright light and look away and you see the bright light imprint flashing when you blink). I get it quite alot. Anyway If anyone bothers to read this it's much appreciated since Id like to share problames about this with other people who suffer from this (if anyone). I honestly have no proper idea as to why mine occur except that it's to do with stress. Cheers xx
Yes, I get migranes. I'm 13 and I started getting them when I was 10. Mine usually present with vision imparements. (It kind of feels like someone took your picture a million times in a row.) Then I get pain around the temples which spreads to the back of the eyes. I usually don't feel better unless I (a.) fall asleep (b.) pass out or (c.) vomit.
I don't get migraines, although there can be a period of time where I can get headaches on 4 consective occassions.
Yeah everytime I throw up I feel better for about 20 mins then feel worse again. Sleeping helps though if you can get to sleep. I hate migraines
I get them often. They always seem to happen at the worst times too. Like when I'm with my girlfriend or at a party. I just take a 2 hour nap and its gone.
i had a migrane once. i had a cold and it just suddenly came on, no symptoms or anything, just an extreme pain. i have a friend who gets them really badly, so much that he cant see and he says he gets in a lot of pain.
I don't think I get migraines much, but I use to get head aches all the time. And I couldn't figure out the problem until my mom told me what it was. It was because I was sleeping under the covers and having constricted air flow. This caused me to get head aches during the day, and the ones that usually don't go away with a pill. After I stopped sleeping under the covers, I never get head aches now. I'm so happy too, those head aches would get bad sometimes and start to really annoy me. And have you guys thought that you might have brain tumors? Your head aches sound very severe with throwing up.
It's not a brain tumor. All migranes result in vomitting. It's just your body's response to pain. Kind of like when my friend got hit in the nuts really hard...he puked.

i get quite bad headaches somethimes, but there not migranes they are caused by me not drinking enough, but i know that if i get cramp when im asleep ill get numerous headaches later that day, which is always handy as i can carry pain killers.
I don't get headaches, well nothing major really, but every once in a while, when I'm really stressed out, I get a mediocre headache. But what happens to me is that my vision blanks out, as in goes all black for about 15-30 secounds, and during that period of time, I have a strong headache, but as soon as my vision comes back, i'm back to normal. Dizziness also occurs. The only time the above has happened for over a minute, was when my toe was under anesthetics [I had just got back from a surgery on my toe removing an overgrown toenail that was going deep into my skin causing me to limp actually.] and I got up from the couch [I was lying down] and then the dizziness just took me, my vision just went completely black, it was complete hell. But that's the only single time it's happened.
Th eonly time i fing to get a headache is when i chew gum for a really long time. Bit other than that i dont really, and i mean a bottle of rum seems to clear up that headache pretty fast.
I know a guy who gets migraines from chocolate. That must suck. Like, you give him chocolate, the next day, he's not @ school
i get a migraine every four weeks without fail. i get dizzy, sick feeling and i have to go to bed with the light blacked out cause the light makes things worse. it sucks big time... :wth:
I have floaters often. Then again, I stared at the sun for 15 seconds so... yeah. Also, sometimes, when I get out of bed or off a couch, I get dizzy, the world turns a fuzzy red, and I almost fall over and pass out. I fell over once, but I haven't passed out yet. Not sure why this happens though...
