As of 2009 there's a 1 in 250,000 chance of it actually making impact. I don't think we need to worry too much about this.
I remember when I was about 10, on tv here there was a documentary about space hosted by Sam Neill and I misinterpreted something he said as "a year from now a meteor is going to hit the planet and we'll all die" and I was really, really scared for that year.
