I'm excited to see if they finally portray Batman as the smartest, most badass mofo on the planet. The trailer definitely intrigues me.
Teaser had my jaw hanging low. They are getting everything right here. The costumes, the mood, the visuals, everything looks spot on. I just hope they can carve a good story out of all this.
found this in an fb comment I have better hopes now that Chris Terrio is behind the screenplay. He's a great writer and an Oscar winner (for Argo) and he freaking took the reins from David Goyer, whose recent movies and comments haven't been really great so far.
"So, you came back to die with your city!" "No, I came back to stop you." Thank fucking Christ for Chris Terrio. Also:
I have my doubts about this movie, since Man of Steel was less than stellar. This trailer doesn't do much for me either but it just further confirms how awesome Affleck looks in the new batsuit.
Potential Spoilers for a DC Character already dead in the DCCU: http://i.imgur.com/Don09sV.jpg Taken from a BvS Set.
That throws out the theory I'd read in which Jason Todd's already dead, thus Batman's overly-brooding persona, and Dick Grayson's become Nightwing.
Because of the new trailer for BvS, I decided to re-read The Dark Knight Returns. I've only gotten through Book 1 thus far, but god damn, I nearly forgot how fucking great the writing is. I'm so glad that BvS looks like it's borrowing very heavily from it. Because of that, I have to agree with Will. A Carrie Kelley Robin is almost expected at this point.
Speaking on that, I happened to find this article which talks about an extra who leaked that Jena Malone's as-yet-unannounced character in BvS is Carrie Kelley. edit — I saw someone posit that: 1. Dick Grayson was Robin and later became Nightwing but has since died; 2. Jason Todd then became Robin but left for whatever reason (allowing him to later return as the Red Hood); 3. Tim Drake was then recruited to be Robin but also moved on to become Nightwing in Dick's honor; 4. Carrie Kelley is the present Robin. This all makes sense considering Batman's much older in this adaptation than he's been portrayed at any other time in the previous films, to contrast with the much-younger Superman.

Heh, that's an interesting video. I wonder if they have a full edit up somewhere. I think the yellow in the Metropolis shots is a bit much, but maybe that was intentional... with the added bonus of maybe also helping provide contrast to Gotham in Dawn of Justice, like they explain at the end. That's top. Also, I was looking at the .gif I posted of Batman in the Dark Knight Returns type exo-armor... am I wrong, or is he wearing the other Batsuit (and cowl) under it? Take a look:
