So, there is another anime live action movie in the works. I don't really feel like finding where it says its confirmed and shit but i'll give you a site where you can find it yourself LOOK AROUND IN HERE And http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1098327/ Director = James Wong Go here for casting and shit because im being lazy set pics and stuff anyway.. Goku is in highschool I don't think there will be a krillin It's called "Dragon Ball" but goku is a teenager.. So massive fail?? I think so. maybe not but I think so.
Yupp...I've been following up on the information on the movie since they were released. I'm trying to be as optimistic as I can, but Goku in high school is just strange to me. Since it takes place during the Dragonball era, it makes sense that he is a teenager lol, so there's nothing strange about that. To make matters worse, James Wong is the director ( think Final Destination 3 ugh..) and also the production of this film is being rushed. Release for this film is august 15th of next year. Bleh.
WHAT THE FUCK??? I loved Dragonball Z and GT when i was younger and followed the episodes very closely but ...i wont hold judgment till i see a trailer and the movie. but Goku in High School...ehhhh, Not feeling it..for one..Goku never went to school when he was raised by Grandpa Gohan and then always off Adventuring...Maybe Gohan as a teenager in High school but..i dont know
According to IGN, Chow Yun Fat is supposed to be Master Roshi. But still, I'm not sure how I feel about this movie.
I don't think anybody knows how they should feel about this film. I mean, it feels so damn slapped together...
I'm not sure how it can be not promising, when all we have is a few shots from the set. I'm looking forward to seeing it finished, although I'm not too excited.
My winning opinion is that this movie made of fail will not appeal to my winning preference because of the fail of the anime genre, which is on a long fail streak in my book of win.
Lol. GT will appear to be amazing after this whole debacle. Zak, Krillin has done more for the Dragonball cast than you think. The 'dumbest fucking character' title goes to Chiaotzu my friend.
I remember they tried this like 5 years ago and it never happened. It should have stayed that way. DO NOT MAKE LIVE ACTION FILMS FROM ANIME, IT DOESNT WORK.
That's like saying 'DONT MAKE ANY LIVE ACTION COMIC BOOK MOVIES!' until a decent, or fantastic adaptation onto film is released. There are several anime/manga titles that could work out easily into live action, Dragonball just happens to be one of the most difficult ones to put into live action.
I think that they're trying to make an original version of the story, not a direct translation. Sort of a reimagination of the story, which I think will be pretty interesting. I used to love the show years ago (Majin Vegeta FTW!) and even though I don't watch it anymore, I might see this just out of sheer curiosity.
No. The American film industry is taking everything Japanese and ruining it. Look at the horror movies that have crossed over, you can't tell me that they live up to the originals. Comic books and Anime are LOADS different. If you take an anime and make it into a live action movie, it's going to be extremely cheesy because of how much an anime is dramatized. In comic books, you dont see Batman's head growing in size when he gets angry and yells at someone. It is much harder to do an anime into film because of things like that. I honestly don't believe that there will ever be an Anime-to-Live Action film done right in America.
