Oooh, new sound clips. Awesome episode.
The one I've personally been waiting for - the man himself, Nile Rodgers!
Pretty sure the clips we saw with the "glass instruments" are from a Music Video. Also, everyone, watch 'til the end
I'm also getting the feeling that they're live performances will be different from what they used to be. Live band?
I don't think the live band is going to happen, but Nile Rodgers' video is my favorite thus far.
Anyways, Pharrel Williams was pretty unexpected... That list of artists working on the album is pretty impressive, though!
Is that official!?
Well, looks like they weren't fucking around when they said Daft punk were going disco!
Pharrell on vocals, Nile on guitar, Thomas on bass and Guy-Manuel on drums.
EDIT: I still don't understand why they haven't released a lead single yet! All this teasing is too much for me!
Yes. I assume it's going to be the official music video. At the end of the last "Collaborators" with Nile Rodgers you see a one second clip of Guy turning up the volume on the bass that looks to be from this video. I love it. During the last Collaborators you see the see through bass, guitar, piano etc that I assume will also be in the video.
Sounds even better.
Something tells me we're gonna have to deal with a new era of disco after this album comes out.
Random Access Memories MIGHT HAVE A LEAD SINGLE!
AND IT'S PREMIERING TOMORROW!
Also, tracklist + features!
1. “Give Life Back to Music” (featuring Nile Rodgers)
2. “The Game of Love”
3. “Giorgio by Moroder” (featuring Giorgio Moroder)
4. “Within” (featuring Chilly Gonzales)
5. “Instant Crush” (featuring Julian Casablancas)
6. “Lose Yourself to Dance” (featuring Pharrell Williams and Nile Rodgers)
7. “Touch” (featuring Paul Williams)
8. “Get Lucky” (featuring Pharrell Williams and Nile Rodgers)
11. “Fragments of Time” (featuring Todd Edwards)
12. “Doin’ It Right” (featuring Panda Bear)
13. “Contact” (featuring DJ Falcon)
(And yes, Do Androids Dance? is a very reliable source, obviously)
Looks like this 'song' hasn't premiered today.
Need this right now, dammit.
Well, I've never heard of a radio station lying before! Should Daft Punk and Columbia sue? I think they should.
SUPPOSED* - Rumored Radio Edit leak of Get Lucky!
Higher Quality on soundcloud https://soundcloud.com/enblog/daft-punk-get-lucky-radio-edit
Honestly, I hope this isn't the legit version. If it's legit, then I'm kinda disappointed. Loops. Loops everywhere (the song feels like it isn't going anywhere). Which wouldn't be a big deal if it weren't for the often sloppy edits (vocals suddenly ending etc.). If this is the radio edit, then I hope the long (real) version will at least be more interesting to listen to.. but I doubt it.
Anyways, maybe it'll grow on me after some listens.
I like it, and the new verse definitely sounds like Pharrell to me but it does sound sort of like a rough draft and it's lacking the intro from the collab video. I don't think it's fake though, I just don't think it's the final version.
It's legit. The only reason it sounds like that is because it's the radio edit. The album version will be much longer, with an intro and outro presumably.
"Get Lucky" was released as a single today! Buy it on Amazon!
"Get Lucky" is the first lead single by Daft Punk since Discovery's "One More Time" in 2000.
EDIT: "Get Lucky" will be released at exactly midnight on Friday morning in each region. I've bought and downloaded the single myself considering, at time of writing, it's 12:45am over here. Just wanted to point that out just in case some person out there is freaking out and shouting "WHAY IS IT NAT AVAILABVLE!!!"
Very funky song...
You've downloaded it? The non radio edit, full version?
An armored suitcase?
Awesome, awesome, awesome. Surely someone has posted the full legit version on YouTube...?
