In an interview with 1up.com, Hideo Kojima (the creator of the popular Metal Gear Solid series) mentioned that it was technically possible for Metal Gear Solid 4 to run on Xbox 360 hardware. He also stated that they chose the Playstation 3 hardware to run the MGS4 trailer was merely because it was 'newer' and they wanted to try it out first. Kojima also said that there weren't any real differences between PS3, PC and Xbox 360. As for the Nintendo Revolution, he called it totally different. So basically, nothing is setting the PS3, the PC, and the Xbox360 apart aside from small details. The Revolution, however, is entirely different than any of these for obvious reasons.
The only thing that is deciding it is what people had before, if they had a ps2, they would buy a ps3, if they had a xbox they would bun a xbox 360 and so on... and im getting a ps3, but im waiting till price goes down
i see the truth and the proof but i still want to know wtf is going on in the MGS4 storyline! just a little background...c'mon!
Yeah, so? What's your point? Blue-ray is just a different way of compressing information. It has nothing to do with how a game will turn out.
What do you think a 360 and PS3 are? They're essentally a PC running different operating systems. Hell, the 360 is pretty much a PowerMac G5 (which I find oh so ironic) in a different casing and running something besides OSX.
If I said that to Billy Boy, I'd still be right. The PowerMac G5 and XBox 360's architecture is nearly identical...why do you think MS used G5's to demo the 360 during the spring and summer before actual consoles were produced? I'm surprised no one's actually figured out a way to play 360 games on a G5 yet. Considering the similarity, I'd think it would be rather easy. Maybe the 360 just hasn't been out long enough, I'm sure someone will eventually figure out how to crack M$'s protection and get the games working on a G5.
