I was driving the other day and thinking, who would have thought I would have Bieber in my driving playlist... Purpose is awesome.
Justin Bieber has always been cool in my book. His newer music is dope af. Even when he was making just super poppy stuff, I still cringed when people would make unimaginative JB insults. It's like "dude, he isn't even aimed at our demographic." Now, he's killing it though.
Her singing style "hip singing" or whatever sounds like a toddler learning how to speak https://www.youtube.com/shared?ci=hTRS89vRUfw https://www.youtube.com/shared?ci=3g613Fk_-J4 It sounds like they're trying to emulate Bjork's Icelandic accent singing style but it comes across badly. Bjork actually pronounces words in a precise way that they actually sounded like English though.
At first glance, this new album cover instantly reminded me of MTM's back cover. On the back of the CD case, it shows silhouettes of the band members looking out to the ocean's horizon, much like the kids in this new cover. Very cool, and very unexpected.
Yeah I kinda like how it's connected to MTM (even if not on purpose) and how it gives off the opposite feeling that MTM gave off. MTM's title and cover gave a somber feeling, this gives a happy and calming feeling.
You're right, MTM does give a somewhat somber, sad vibe with the silhouettes and the setting sun. Even though LP7's cover is an (intentional?) throwback, the kids in place of the adults make all the difference in the tone/vibe the imagery gives to the viewer.
Only I feel sadness looking at this cover? No peace or comfort. There is a very heavy (not purposeful) feeling in this image
Beauty of this album art. It invokes so many different emotions. Some find peace, some find comfort, some find sadness and dread.
Personally, I interpret it as nostalgic. The theme of the album, so far for me it seems, is the evolution of a human being from their day of birth to the quarrels one faces throughout their lifetime, be it depression, broken hearts, death of a loved one, among many more. But that, despite all the bad that happens, there's also the good to cherish and look back fondly on. And in the end, that's what life is: tribulations with both good and negative outcomes. I could definitely see that being the overall theme for the album.
Don't know how I feel. Very different from any album cover Linkin Park has ever had. It really goes with the sounds we've been hearing on the studio updates, though. I think it's pretty cool.
I meant to write this hours ago, I know I'm very late, but I like the cover a lot, not at all what I was expecting, and wonder where the words "Linkin Park" and the title are gonna go. BUT...... SURELY the album and title should be announced first, THEN the the cover revealed? Or am I just too ol' school?
my guess is that the album title and band name won't be on the cover at all, which is, maybe, THE reason they presented the cover first
