well i have counter strike for pc and xbox and i think its great , although there are some times when it may get a lil tireing , but despite all that do u think it is a gd game if not why , if so why , getting knifed lol
Yeah, counter strike is probably the best online game developed. We have a server called 'No Fat Chicks' that we run locally.
I hate counterstrike with a passion. It is inferior in every way to Day of Defeat. 1) The online community sucks. 90% of the people hack or are just general asses. 2) Underemphasized teamplay. Teamplay in counterstrike is pretty much optional. This should not be so in a game based around teamwork. 3) Not realistic at all, also annoying for a supposed 'realistic shooter'. Counterstrike on a LAN, marginally decent. On the internet? Forget it. The idea that the game still has as much hype as ever boggles my mind. Haven't played CS:Source, but I hear that's basically the same.
well cs is only optional between counter terrist and terrist because if u plyed it and just got shoved on a team u wouldnt like it cause then u have to ply or u get lost . and ppl who hack only hack to do stuff like 180 degree spin if ur shooting em in the ass, and they may hack to put like extra damage when they hit ya wiv a bullet (but if u cap em before they can say oh s**t then ur probly safe) so dont h8 counter strike love it
1) It's the internet. About 90% of people on the internet are hackers/asses. Deal with it. 2) There's still the option for teamplay. You work much better doing a team rush than a single player rush . If you want true teamplay, join CAL or a league. 3) It's not exactly a cartoon shooter. It's more realistic that Day Of Defeat... Day of Defeat is no match for any other war games. Come on, who ran around in WW2 with a SHOVEL... come on...

Come on, who ran around in WW2 with a SHOVEL... come on... [/b][/quote] You've got to be kidding me... You think CS is more realistic than Day of Defeat? I don't have enough time to shoot this down totally but... 1) There's a little thing called stamina that CS is lacking. It prevents the stupid jump fests that occur on games like CS. 2) The german military did carry shovels, for digging trenchs but were also used as a last ditch weapon. Nearly everything in Day of Defeat is taken from history, and is meant to be realistic. Proof Here 3) While joining a league is a great way to get in teamplay, one should be able to accomplish this without joining a league. Joining a league requires massive time commitments generally. Right now, I'm more interested in having a game I can pick up and play, where teamwork is not mildly hinted at, but necessary. 4) I did deal with the hackers and asses on the internet. I found a different game. That game was Day of Defeat. I've met maybe 2 hackers since I started playing 5 years or so ago. And in general the community tends to be well...less childish. 5) Lack of bullet penetration along with a ridiculously forgiving damage system ruins all realism of the game. It's llike the designers wanted a 'realistic' Unreal tournament.
CounterStrike was never about realism though, it was about it's own brand of realism. CounterStrike is about knowing the game more than anything else, and using your knowledge and experience of the game to survive. CounterStrike is a completely different game from Day of Defeat, and you can't really compare them on the same level. So calling it inferior to DoD was kind of pointless, seeings as they're run on the same engine and have the same general graphics, physics and layout. Day of Defeat is no match for games like Battlefield in realism, and CounterStrike is no match for games such as Rainbow 6. CounterStrike employs some factors of a stealth game into something that isn't so serious, and is more on the fun side. You simply can't have a war based game on the Half Life engine and make it realistic, because the HL engine was designed for Deathmatch-like play. I agree that CounterStrike is not realistic but how realistic do you want something. At some point, the game wouldn't even be fun anymore.
