I feel polls are quite idiotic, and some may feel the same way about this thread, but I find the discussion of which to be the best system a favorite past time of gamers, so I thought i'd bring it here onto the LPA forums. Let's go! First, i'll say that I favor the Nintendo GameCube...
I love the Sega Dreamcast - such a shame that like all Sega consoles, it went bye-bye. Games like Sonic Adventure really showed off the graphics and quality of this console. I just hate how it made so many stupid-ass games (like usual) that no one's gonna buy. Another console I hold dear to me is the Sega Saturn. Other than it's slow-ass loading time, I just loved it!
I like Sonic, so if a system has him I have it most likely. Sega's consoles were great, and nothing beats the 7 hour Mario Kart marathons me and my friends used to have. Right now im into X-Box and Gamecube.
Sega goes nowhere with systems because they always rush their production. They wanted to throw a system out before the PS2 hit the stores, and they miscalculated that this is the 20th century, and we all have CD-burners. Shortly after release, their system and consoles were corrupted by bootleggers burning them like music CD's on their home, inexpensive burners. Sega should stick to what it's good at, making games. Because, unless they sit down and think sincerely about a console, they will never prevail. GC owns.
I agree with everything you said. Don't expect a console from them in a long.......well, maybe never again. They're making games for everyone now, including Nintendo.
I actually heard (I'm not sure where, so don't quote me) that the reason Sega doesn't make anymore consoles after the Dreamcast is because Microsoft paid them to stop or something, and to make games mainly for them (though they make games for all systems). I find that to be very untrue though, and I'm still not real sure where I heard it. But, my GameCube is my drug. I love it. The graphics may not be the best, but it's damn addictive.
What the hell site was that, xbox.com?
No, I can't remember where it was. If I can remember I'll try to find it.
Well, if you even casually know a gaming list of most recently released in the past year and upcoming year, you'll notice that Sega hasn't dedicated themselves to ONE system, let alone it being the X-Box (of which barely get's any Sega games). Game Cube is the best, and the graphics are actually quite impressive. It may not be better than the X-Box, but it can do an impressive tango with the big machine, and it can certainly out perform the PS2...
Yeah, but other than Zelda, and the Star Wars games on GC, and Halo of the X, ya'lls games are pure ####. PS2, on the other hand, get all the good games. Metal Gear Solid, Grand Theft Auto, we got midnight club before you. PS2 may not have the most powerful hardware, but we obviously have the better games.
lol. Are all PS2 users in a guild or something? "We get them before you." lmfao.
ROFL You know what? #### it, it's all about my PC, beotches. B)
I know, seriously, it's not like we're in rival gangs. Whose to say I don't have PS2 and the X-Box to accompany my GC? I'm just stating which system is favorable to me, not start a shootout over who get's what game first. Wow. Also, PS2 has ALOT of good games? Correction, it has ALOT of games. People think that having a larger library of games makes it better, no, it makes it trashy. My local 7-Eleven sells PS2 games...dead serious.
I'm favorable towards the Playstation 2 for it's controllers, it's games (exclusives like GTA and Metal Gear [i think]. i mean besides PC.) and it's overall look and appeal. The console is still out 3+ years and they're still pumping out new games instead of spending all their time on a new console (which is bound to blow everything away ).
I found all the specs of each next-geneneration systems. The first line is Xbox's. The second line is PS2's. and the third line is Gamecube's. Gamecube came close. And PS2 is last, if i'm not mistaken. I don't really care if Xbox is the best out there, each system is created differently, meaning that comparison is limited in most areas. But is I'd had to choose, I'd choose Xbox. Simply because is the system that I've played the most. And I've seen that Microsoft is very dedicated in putting out the best system. On the Xbox you can record songs to the hard drive and then play them while playing some games. Also, Xbox Live is the best online service; you just have to pay one payment for one whole year and is not expensive, and on all games that are enabled for online gaming you can use the comunicator set (unlike PS2...). And when a game that's for all 3 systems, the Xbox version is always better (for example when Metal Gear Solid came to the Xbox it has more mission and it's better than the PS2 version in other ways too. Also so many more features..... Yes, it doesn't have as many awesome games as PS2's but it has some awesome exclusive ones too. If I could get Gamecube, I'd get it (I already have PS2). These 3 systems are unique in a way and that's what makes them so awesome. Yes, they might have some crappy games but that's alright. I mean every console has some games that really sucks, but that's ok. So anyways, I'm sticking with my big awesome black (X)box.
I love the Xbox controller and I can't stand the Gamecube one. All the consoles have their own cool games, though.
