In Live In Texas and the concert I went to, in the intro and the quiet bridge, Rob hits something with his drumsticks, and you have that ominous sound (dum dum, dum dum) but then if you hear and see Joe in LIT or any other live shows at the In the End intro, where he's making the sounds with the little keyboard thingy, it sounds like the ominous noise sounds like it was made by that lil keyboard thing. The ominous sound and the intro have nearly the same sound. So shouldn't it be Joe making that ominous sound and not Rob?

(and if you listen to the quiet part of Place for my head in Hybrid theory where Chester goes "You, try to take the best of me) you can hear that noise in the background)

Also, just asking, nothing to it, Why can't Joe do it? Wouldn't it be easier?

No, those are special drums that are rigged to make those sounds. I forget the term for what they're called, though, as it's 2:30 AM and I forget.

Joe does scratching before it hits the bridge and the beginning is just easier for Joe. DJing isn't all that easy anyways, so I think Rob doing the beat at that point is better.

I think they're electronic drum synthesisers.

I'm sure there's a reason for it, anyways.

    Trigger Pads. ;)

And yeah, Joe does the noises that are more like piano/keyboard noises (Crawling/In the End intros, etc.) but that part of APFMH is a beat that rob does on one of the digital triggers on his drum kit. You can tell because I've heard him get the timing off a bit on some live bootlegs. :p

I think it was just easier for Rob to use the triggers rather than Joe programming it in his sampler.
