Hey guys, I'm going to be starting college in October and just found out I got denied for independent status on my financial aid. This takes a huge toll on my financial situation for college and was wondering if you guys here at LPA could point me toward grants and scholarships that would be beneficial to me.

Anything you guys can help me with is greatly appreciated

i am on scolarship foundation. where do you live? i live in Florissant, Missouri. for the scholarship foundation, you have to have atleast a 2.0 and good passing grades. The only thing is that you have to keep the grades up. and idk the time limit to where you have to pay the money back? oh and if you are from Missouri and is going away to college even in the same state, you should get $1000 automatically for being a citizen in Missouri. i don't know if that applies every else in the USA? and congrats for getting in college!! im a senior in college now and ive got accepted into four schools at the beginning of my college years only because i took so many classes at florissant valley community college, i had a high credit hours too. Lincoln U., Drury U., Maryville U., UMKC., and now UMSL. i thougt i got accepted into five schools, but i cant remember the name of it. lolz have fun!!

I am sure your high school counselor can point you to the right direction. I remember my counselor gave me a list of websites in high school. It's also helpful to talk to the financial aid office at the college you wish to attend.

    Best of luck!
