I'm going to see this movie today and I am so pumped about it. I've been waiting for it for months, and now it's finally here. The reviews for it are incredible. On Movies.com ( http://movies.go.com/movies/C/collateral_2...004/index.html# ), critics gave it a 4.83/5, with not one negative review. Tom Cruise is one of my favorite actors, and Jamie Foxx is a pretty cool guy too. The storyline seems really intriguing, like nothing that's been done before. Sypnosis: Max (Jamie Foxx), a struggling comedian who drives a cab in Los Angeles to earn a living, picks up a man (Tom Cruise) who he soon realizes is a hitman. On each stop Max makes, the hitman kills someone who he's been hired to rub out. Max is now being held captive by the hitman, who forces him to drive him around town so he can finish his business. Max needs to find a way to stop the killer, while saving himself from certain death. It's like 'Phone Booth' in a Taxi! I really can't wait to see this. Any other fans?
I cant waite to see Tom Cruise play a bad ass mofo , also im a huge fan of the director Micheal Mann (who also directed heat)
Just got back, it was awesome. Definately in my top ten movies of all-time. Tom Cruise was incredible as the hitman, Vincent. Vincent was terse, smooth, slick, edgy, philosophical, and downright evil. Tom totally pulled it off. Jamie Foxx did increasingly better than I expected as Max, the cab driver. He did a great job. The storyline, as I said above, was great. The dialogue between Vincent and Foxx was amazing. I really like how they developed the strenuous relationship between the two men, as they began to know each other better. That doesn't mean they were friends, hell no. There's certain parts of the movie wehre you don't see things happening. The last five minutes of the movie sent chills continuously down my spine. Worth every penny. 10/10.
Agreed, only thing I didn't like was: (spoilers in white) they didn't say whether Max was caught or what happened there on after. If they found out that he shot, and killed Vincent he would go to jail, but they never show that. Also, when he says to the cop towards the end "call the cops" after he steals the cop's gun and handcuffs him to the crashed taxi, he then again can go to jail for his actions. It was just weird how the ending didn't show any of the final outcomes, but I like how Vincent died on the subway and how he was talking about (in the beginning) the guy who was dead on the subway and went around 6 times before anyone noticed he was dead.

[/b][/quote] John: Max wouldn't have been thrown in jail for killing Vincent because it was in self-defense. Witnesses (such as the woman he was saving) would have backed up the self-defense notion. I think Collateral was meant to show one night of terror, and i think it would've been distasteful and would've taken awayfro mthe movie if they dragged in on with a boring court or prison scene afterwards. It would take focus away from that one night. I thought it was a perfect ending.

i have a really quick question, don't think i'm stupid or anything, but is tom cruise really that old or is he just supposed to look old in the movie? cuz i didnt think he was that old in real life.
