Clip of "Riders On The Storm" Surfaces On Amazon

Under all these effects it's really hard to hear Chester himself...

EDIT: I know, it's kind of off top (however, I don't know how something related to LP could be off top at LP fan site), I want to be sure. Judging by this photo: http://www.joehahn.com/blog/pic-of-the-day/ , are they really already making Waiting for the end voideo? Or something different?

Love the guitar work, but I'm not digging that sample, either. Way overproduced. Would've sound better if it was some bad vocalist, but a guy like Chester Bennington doesn't need that stuff, especially when it sounds 10 times worse than his actual voice.

 

I agree, is it just me or does the quality of the clips sound really bad?

 

Sounds okay I guess. I'm not hearing the effect yall are talking about. Maybe the sound quality is the issue here.

 

Too much vocal effects and I really wanted Chester to push more... He would sound better when he sings it in a rock style.

On a different note, its four more days till A Thousand Sun's official release in Australia and it has not been leaked yet. lol...

 

Not sure how to spread that information but i just listened German radio and they mentioned to play songs from ATS this week and it sounded like they will start today. Not 100% sure, because everyone at work is too loud but i already organized headphones and hope to hear something soon =)

Back on topic, I thought the clip was okay, not my favorite, but I guess it is worth a listen. Back in Black sounds great though

As for Riders of the Storm, I can't discern whether there are effects on the song or not. I have very low quality speakers and the clip is probably in 96kb, which makes for very bad listening indeed.

 

Yeah, this clip is trash. I didn't know that the album he was being featured on was gonna be a Classic Rock tribute CD..

I have my respects for classic rock, but I cant bring myself over to enjoy listening to it.

And all the effects on Chesters voice make it barely even sound like him, so I'm not holding my breath for this track.

 

I reckon Chester's voice sounds pretty cool on that ... it's drowned out a bit by the instruments, only slight effect on it and compression, but otherwise it's cool. I'll listen to it when it's out for sure.

 

Guess the majority of you haven't heard the original Riders on the Storm.

 

I don't think it'll be that good. If you've heard the original song you'll know it's pretty subdued. Unless they take some liberties with the tone of the song I'm thinking most LP fans will think it's an underwhelming, though faithful, performance.

Exactly. It sounds like it should sound. Like Chester singing Riders on the Storm lol

 

I don't know what version you heard, but Doors version did not had strange effects all over vocalist voice. And because of that it was good. Really good.
I don't hear Chester there. It could be anyone else and it would sound the same. I'm sticking with the Doors song.

 

No he doesn't, true. Having said that, he could easily pull of Metallica vocals with those effects layered such as Enter Sandman, or Turn The Page.

 

I don't think it's that hard to tell it's Chester and I'm not sure if I hear that much in the way of effects on his vocals. One thing I will say is that I'm kind of surprised that's the song he was chosen for. Maybe he will pull it off but as it is it's a lot easier to imagine him doing, well, most of the other songs on the album.
