Are any of you classical music buffs? I get on my kicks, but I can certainly appreciate it, and enjoy it on many occasions. One of my personal favorites is Chopin.
Richard Strauss' Also Sprach Zarathustra is virtually the only classical-like song I can enjoy these days.
I love the Canons In D from Pachelbel and I like Tchaikovsky's Ouverture 1812 and The Planets series from Holst (Blame my Physics teacher for getting me into classical music)
I must say the SF Symphony kicked ass with Metallica, i haven't really listened to any other classical stuff though.
The Philadelphia Orchestra - Clair De Lune George Gershwin - Rhapsody In Blue Samuel Barber - Adagio for Strings Ronald Lo Presti - Elegy For a Young American are some of my favs.
The only classical music I can tolerate is George Gershwin. I like jazz based classical but I hate most classical music. I never enjoy any of the concerts I go to.
I like anything instrumental, especially classical. Not all, but most. I heard a classical song on the radio in grade 8 and I swear it was the best song I have ever heard in my life. I can't remember how it goes now, but I know if I hear it again, I'll know that's the song. It was pure orgasm in my ears
I love the "pirates of the carribean" soundtrack. I'm not that into classical music (or maybe I just didn't try), but sometimes it's pretty cool. I think one of the main reasons why I often don't like it is that there aren't any lyrics in it, and I like to sing, so ...
Although I am more of a jazz fanatic, I really enjoy classical, especially because of my background in classical piano. Among the classical composers I like (which also tends to include Baroque, Romantic, and 20th Century artists) are Mozart, Beethoven, Chopin, Schubert, Bartok, Clementi, Haydn, Gershwin, and Tchaikovsky among many others I think im inspired to download some now Among my favourite compositions are Schubert's Prelude in F minor, Gershwin's Rhapsody in Blue, Mozarts 7th, and Beethoven's Moonlight Sonata B)
I wouldn't call myself a classical music buff but I do enjoy classical music. Especually instramentals.
I've got a CD of the Boston Pops under the direction of Arthur Fiedler that kicks. It's got the William Tell overture, the 1812 overture, Rimsky-Korsakov's Procession of the Nobles, and some other really classic pieces (including Polovetsian Dances!). I also like Gershwin's Rhapsody in Blue, a lot of Vivaldi, Beethoven, Brahms, Pachelbel's Canon in D, and the piece I performed for solo/ensemble contest last year--Sergei Rachmaninoff's Vocalise. ...I also like opera.
I don't really listen to classical music... The only thing I really liked is the pirates of the caribbean soundtrack
I love it except I know I'm never going to really get interested in it. I get totally blown away when I listen to a good piano or violin peice but I wouldn't really dig deep into it.
