Anyone else here into Chris Cornell's work? Besides being the frontman for Soundgarden and Audioslave, he's also a solo artist, and his second solo disc (called "Carry On") is almost ready for release. It leaked last week, and it's interesting to see the former grunge rocker receive the same kind of criticism with his new CD that Linkin Park is getting from "Minutes To Midnight", as far as not sticking with his trademark sound. Critics and some fans were expecting him to go the tried and true grunge or classic rock route of his former bands, but instead came out with a record showing off influences of rock, blues, country and psychedelia. I think it's a solid piece of business, and will eagerly buy it upon its release on June 5. Any thoughts?
my brother loved audioslave. soundgarden has some pretty good hits to. not so sure about his solo project though.
I listened to about half of the new solo album and wasn't really impressed, I only liked the first song.
His new album is great I reckon. It's got a more upbeat pop feel to it but it's the direction he wanted to take with this album. But I like everything he puts out so don't listen to me.
yeah I hate no such thing. though that to me is just like what I've done was with Minutes to Midnight, the first (or second single, not sure if You Know My Name would be considered off Carry On) but I just don't like it. What I've Done is probably one of my least favorite tracks on Minutes to Midnight right now, so the others on Carry On might be good.
No Such Thing is nothing like the rest of the album. That and You Know My Name really don't fit in at all.
does anyone know if the bonus track "The Roads We Choose" is the theme song from Drive? That is the song I am most looking forward to; but it's not on any of the leaks. I've looked everywhere, and I can't find any information.
Hope you find this link helpful. http://www.audioslaved.com/modules.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&t=16385
thanks for that! I found the song this morning, but its not the Drive theme song. I thought for sure "roads" in the name would be for the 'Drive' theme song. I guess I'll never hear the full song, just like I'll never get to see a full season of that show holy shit, I'm such a fucking noob!!! no wonder I can't find the damn song, it's Gavin Rossdale that sang the song. wow. I am really embarassed now. I've been trying to find this song for the past month from "Chris Cornell" damn....
