Earlier this week, Chester talked to MTV briefly about Linkin Park's tentative fifth album. Check out what he had to say below: You can read the full article or watch the interview HERE Although Chester didn't release much information, it's nice to see him continue to show enthusiasm for this next record. At the moment, all signs still point to a much smaller gap between album releases this time around compared to past releases. It also sounds like the band may already know what the next album will roughly sound like. But of course, it's impossible to be certain about anything at this point in the album-making process. So what are your thoughts on the latest album hype? How do you think Linkin Park's next record will sound? When will it come out? Make sure to post your thoughts and predictions in our forums! Very interesting read. Looking foward to ATS follow up and I think it will sound even more electronic (personal opinion).
Honestly...I don't really have an opinion. As long as they are doing what they love, I'll support them even if I don't particularly like the music.
This article is important for the sole purpose that it kills any misconceptions some of us have been having that the album is coming early 2012. It now seems late 2012 at the earliest .
Awesome news, glad to see that the band is really excited so early in the process of making album 5. I always hoped for early 2012 but late 2012 always made the most sense. Also, I wish Mike would make a studio update on his blog and give us a more rough idea of what's going on.
Amen to this. I don't get why so many "hardcore fans" can't appreciate that, as fans, we're allowing these guys to do what they love and they don't take that for granted. They're effectively in a position - and mindset - where they can do whatever they want and they're actually using their opportunity to do whatever they want.
I want it to sound like Yanni with a touch of Bolton. I WOULD WET MY PANTS! Seriously though, I HAVE NO EXPECTATIONS AS FAR AS A RELEASE DATE GOES!
Next thing you know, they'll be moving the date to spring 2013.....the only hope that I do have is the assuming of the band going back to the studio right after DeLuna Fest. Which from that month till March is precisely 6 months. That's a lot of time for them to work on music
I'd like to picture an acoustic and atmospheric song with heavy vocals, like The Messenger, but more ambience and noise in ther background. And darker lyrics.
You surprisingly may not be too far off with that. Brad's been photographed in the studio recently with an acoustic, and has even stated he's been using one in a recent LPU chat. Could be possible.
THIS IS THE TALE, OF CAPTAIN JACK SPARROW Yeah, the more I hear about progress on the new record, the more anxious and confused I get.
Hell to the yeah! Considering that they've been working on this album for the past few months already, it shows you how keen they are in creating a follow-up album. ATS isn't even a year old yet, so for LP's standards this is looking good. Unless like decide to do a "meteora" and scrap the original songs in the middle of the writing process and start all again. Lets pray that doesn't happen Also, from the vibe I'm getting from the band, I have feeling like many others have said that it'll be a very stripped down album. More like MTM but as experimental as ATS. It could be akin to Radiohead's "Amnesiac"; full of electronic, ambient, classical and jazz influences. THATS what I'm hoping for.
