Chester Solo Album: Possibility?

    According to Sean Dowdell, the drummer of Grey Daze, Chester Bennington’s former band, the Linkin Park vocalist may record a solo album in the future. This was revealed in LPA's chat with Sean tonight .

    When asked about the possibility of a Grey Daze reunion, Sean commented; “Yes, most likely. But you will have to keep on Chester. I think Mace and myself will play on his solo album if and when he does one.” When he was asked to elaborate on the possible solo effort, Dowdell offered; “He [Chester] has written alot of stuff that doesn't necessarily fit into what he is doing now so it probably will happen for him in a year or so. Whenever he is ready.”. The Grey Daze drummer felt fairly confident that a Chester will eventually release a solo album. “Nothing is in stone yet, and he is not even sure if he wants to do one yet, but I think he will eventually.”, said Dowdell, “[I’m] not sure when but eventually a year or so.”

    Although it has not been confirmed by Linkin Park or Chester that a solo album will be released, this sheds more light and hope on the possibility of this occuring

    I'd like to see anything from LP, just as long as they don't break up....... But it would knid of be Grey Daze again because of the fact of Maybe Sean and Mace playing on it.....

    The chat w/ Sean rocked :) And a solo album would be awesome...I love LP but it would be cool to see Chester break the mold. :D

    Solo CD's do NOT= Breakups. A lot of bands release solo projects or side projects but stay together. Only reason NSYNC is no more now that Justin has gone solo is that they both suck.

    One of the greatest band's ever, Rage Against The Machine, broke up because the lead singer wanted to focus on his solo project. But I'm practically 100% Linkin Park wouldn't follow that path, I mean look at them: They're 6 goofballs who love to rock, have fun, and make each other and us laugh. They're not your typical band. They're so much of a family, it's amazing.

    Well, the lead singer left RATM, they still exist as Audioslave.

    Yah I hope that Chester will come out with a solo album. I think that it would be interesting for him to showcase his single talent as we all know he has alot to spread. But I highly doubt that they would break up because of it. Honestly it just seems like something that was meant to happen cause Chester has so much talent, but I don't think he would get carried away with the solo fame if he became really damn popular because of it.

    I would love to hear a chester solo album. I would love for him to record The Morning After for it. That song is really really good. I love listenin 2 it.

    I mos def agree that a solo album doesn't mean a breakup. And although you al hate to be wrong get your facts straight. Justin went solo, but NSync didn't break up, that's why they performed as a GROUP at the grammies and an album is being recorded (save us all). Also, the Backstreet Boys whose Nick Carter went solo have a new album in the works. So solo albums don't mean breakups. Chester loves LP to much, I've long awaited a solo album.

    I'd love to hear something new from Chaz and as Derek says it doesn't mean 100% breaking up of [LP]. But if some other members start doing the same thing i thing [LP] will break up and i don't want it to happen :( :( :(

    yeah and dc talk all did solos, they back together now. as far as chester, oh yeah solo ohoy!!!!!!!! and then mike and joe, i would buy em all

    That would be interesting. Chester being solo. I would like to hear that album, I bet it will be harder than Meteora and soft on some songs. Keep your hopes up! ^_^

    I doubt it'll be ANYTHING like Linkin Park. It's a solo album, a chance to express himself and not the band. Anywho, WHY are you guys using N'sync as an example for this situation??? Boy bands are not rock bands, damnit.

    If Chester does release a solo album, I think the sound would probably go back to his Grey Daze roots, don't you think?

    I hope that Chester doesn't do a solo project. That would mean he'd be taking time off from the group to do something and we wouldn't get any new music by LP or concerts or anything. Alot of times solo projects= break ups.

    No... Linkin Park was working on Meteora and Reanimation at the same time.

    Well Sean said that he was writing a lot of stuff that didn't fit what he was doing now, so I think we can be pretty sure it won't sound anything like LP.

    I was just thinking...wouldn't it be cool to see him do a song w/ Amy Lee? As long as it wasn't a love song, it would probably rock.
