Chester Bennington and Phoenix stopped by X103.9 studios on Wednesday, June 5th to give insight on Chester's role with becoming Stone Temple Pilots' new frontman. Chester talked about pulling double duty of fronting two bands and expressed that his first priority was projects with Linkin Park. He even gave him some spare cash. [thumb]http://www.x1039.com/upload/ChesterHomelessGuy.jpg[/thumb] While in the studio, Chester played this amazing acoustic rendition of "The Messenger." That's awesome, way to go Chazzy Chaz, you are a man that will always be remembered for the good you brought to the Earth.
Wow, that is really touching about the homeless man. Stuff like that makes me happy, that people in the world can be kind and make a difference to someone. Great performance of The Messenger, I love having an acoustic version in HQ without a live crowd or a low quality.
Chester's a good hearted person. Also, I would love to get that version of The Messenger on my Ipod. It's so intimate sung on a lower octave. I love it! I am 99.9% sure that is a mom playing with her son. It's kind of fitting how a song about life lessons will include a mother bonding with her child.
Awesome. Love how he gave the homeless man some money... Wish he didn't have soo much hair gel, though.
I read the last part and saw the pic. Made my eyes watery. You brilliant, kind, loving bastard. I'm so proud of you. Oh and by the way, Chester should stick with that hair gel. Looks boss. LOL. It makes the video really awkward to watch.
Man both Dave and Chester are really starting to show their age. It's amazing how much they've aged in the last few years. Am I the only one who thinks this?
Great Performance.. Phoenix, look those wrinkles.. Well, i don't care about the age as long as they are still making awesome music..
Amazing version of the messenger that I've heard..wish they would do more songs acoustic like that especially numb or in the end \m/
I don't like this performance of "The Messenger" as much as I like the Eb major version that Linkin Park perform live but I guess it's nice, just the same. Can't wait for the interview recording
Yeah to be fair when they released their 1st album they were 23 years old at most so you could say that. Though mid-30s is still young to me I guess he toned it down so it was less vocally demanding. I like the original version better but if his voice cracked in the album, it must be really hard live (though the cracked voice was on purpose I think, and I also believe it was recorded in a single take so..)
I'm actually more interested in hearing the conversation between Chester and the homeless guy than I am in the radio interview lol. What's the name of the headphones Dave is wearing? I see them on radio shows all the time but I don't know what they are called.
