This was a very descriptive and most helpful description of the album....I hope we get more of In Pieces though. God I love that song. I maintain that would have been a monster hit.

Also he shouldn't be too bummed out over DBS. Fort Minor, which did get substantial promotion, didn't fair much better.

I thought the lyrics on New Divide were a step up from their usual fare, and musically it showed moments of real promise. If they go more in that direction with the addition of heavy without metal and strong hip hop, then yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah.

DBS failed due to lack of promotion. The band released two videos, but there was barely any advertising once the album came out. Hurt the CD greatly imho.

In Pieces is one of my all time favorite songs. I agree it really could have done great. I think BIO shouldnt have been a single. I personally love the song but its too short for a full out single.

This does make me a lot happier. What would make me even happier is the combonation of this (hiphop) and MORE OF JOE

Really glad to hear there's gonna be a strong presence of hip-hop on this album. I love hearing Chester sing but one of the key flaws in MTM was a lack of Mike's vocals.

I'm of the opinion that people just weren't into the project. Almost everything I know (from both magazines and people that were in attendance) about the tours Linkin Park did where Chester broke out into DBS performances is that they weren't too hotly received there, either.

No offence to either bands but I think the DBS mini sets during LP shows was a terrible idea. It didn't help that they usually played what I see as the 3 weakest tracks off of Out Of Ashes.

I really think more people would dig the album if it was promoted more but I also think there were some obvious weaknesses on the album namely some of the lyrics.

    If this is correct

If this time it actually turns out like it is said here, it should be a great album. But M2M also was said to be a hardcore album a year before it was released, when in reality, when the time got closer, they announced it was going to be a lot different. It ended up being slow as hell. Definitely not the Linkin Park we used to know...

Without the source this is pretty worthless, but I heard/read that Chester and Mike will be going back and forth on verses in a song/s, as opposed to say, a verse by Mike and the Chorus by Chester.

I'm curious about what they said awhile back about how we would be receiving the album. They said we would be getting the album in a way that hasn't been done before. Anyone remember this?

Chester did an interview for MTV a while back, where he explained that the band decided not to go with that idea. Whatever it had been.

I think he means heavy as in Mike is producing some really heavy, complex sounding beats. Basically I think the album is going to sound incredibly epic, unlike what we have ever thought they were capable of. Come on, people, they don't want to do the same thing again, they don't want to disappoint fans again. They are doings this album for themselves but also I think they have figured out what the fans want, finally, after having it yelled at them for the past three years.
