Chester Bennington- Painted Pictures

    I got an mp3 the other day that is supposedly one of the songs from Chester's band before Grey Daze, "Sean Dowdell and Friends." The song is called Painted Pictures, which I know is one of the 3 songs on that tape. My question is, does anyone know if what I have is real or not? Preferrably an admin could answer this, they probably know. The singer sounds somewhat like Chester, but a lot younger, which would make sense, since this would be around 1993 that this was recorded.

    Yes it is a real track. If you want the track list and info here you go:

    I know it's a real song, but my question is if what I have is the real one, or a fake that someone made up.

    Like maybe if somebody else has heard this, could they give me a 2nd opinion?

    Man that mp3 is said to be extremely rare! If I am aloud to ask, where did you get the mp3? People have said it may have not even been released and it was just a demo tape.

    I'm sorry guys but I have discovered directely from Sean Dowdell of Grey Daze that the song we have is indeed a fake.

    I sent the lyrics to Sean Dowdell and he said that none of the lyrics we have are from Painted Pictures. The title of the song was real but unfortunately for all of you traders out there, the mp3 itself is not. It is some singer who sounds a lot like Chester but isn't.

    Sorry for getting your hopes up, you might as well tell that russianrocket dude that he has a fake Tasta.

    I could have sworn it was Chester... Possibly there are fakes floating around... and there IS a real one. BUT on the other hand, if it was a demo tape, I don't think it would be live...

    Umm I don't know what version of this song you have because this is DEFINETELY not live.

    After some clever research I've discovered that this song is actually by Stone Sour and the vocalist you're hearing is a very, very young Corey Taylor (Slipknot). The real name is "I Can't Believe" and it came from a demo tape released in 95'-96'.

    The real lyrics for anyone who still loves the song are:

    Damn, thought I had a rare find there, but oh well. At least I can tell other people that I know who have it that it isn't a real thing. Although I must say, it is a pretty good song, didn't think Corey could sing that high.

    Yeah you have a point there. I didn't think it was that good either I guess.. but still. I really wish it wasn't fake. :'(

    (I talk to Jakks all the time, I would know :p)

    He was being sarcastic and saying

    "Yeah, it's soooooo rare... I found it on kazaa"...
