This past Monday, Derek's alternative rock website AltWire, and several other members of the media, were given the opportunity to sit in on a nearly two-hour telephone press conference with Chester Bennington and Mike Shinoda of Linkin Park. Intended as a means to promote their latest hit record The Hunting Party and their upcoming Carnivores Tour with 30 Seconds To Mars and AFI, the band opened up on a slew of interesting topics which included their inspirations behind the new record, thoughts on their career to date, and what fans can expect on the upcoming tour, and much much more. The full transcript is extremely long (over 3 pages) and thus cannot be posted on the front page of LPA in it's entirety, however a snippet of the interview is below: To read the transcript in it's entirety, head over to AltWire now. Transcript was done by one of the interns conducting the interview - looks like we missed over that in our proofread. Thanks for the catch. Good to see you all appreciate the interview...
If that one dude didn't totally go rude and ask 5 questions during his turn I would've been able to get a MUCH better second question in. The rule was 1 question per turn. Clearly, several people gave the middle finger to that rule.
I'll just give a pre-article-reading Thank You to the LPA, Derek, and anyone else involved in providing this content / taking the time to transcribe everything. Much appreciated. Additionally, I'd like to acknowledge how badass it is that Derek (and by extension this community) has a direct and first-name-basis rapport with Mike and the band.
I think like the interview was like very interesting. Derek, the fact that Mike like directly called out your name was like very cool.
I like those choices, and the only other songs that I'm interested to see being performed live are "All For Nothing" and maybe "A Line In The Sand". If they add two more new songs later down the line, they'd be playing 7 out of 10 songs, which wouldn't be too bad.
We know there are a lot of "like" "like" etc. To be honest, it was such an effort just to make it readable (the transcript was done by someone who clearly needs hearing aids because they did awful and called MTM like five different names) that I honestly felt "who gives a fuck" when I discovered how many "likes" there are. That being said, it definitely is humbling sometimes for Mike to recognize me/LPA/AW. Regardless of whatever people may *think* I'm like, it's definitely something I'll never be cocky about or take for granted because I know it's not something that happens everyday to just anyone. So thanks all .
