I agree completely. Downloading music helps sales in my opinion. For e.g, it's alot easier to get someone to download something as opposed to getting someone to buy something. I personelly would buy an album if i downloaded a few tracks by an artist and liked them. As for CK working for McDonalds...whatever. :wth:
Artists don't get nearly as much money from CDs as Chad would make you think -- unless, that is, you have Linkin Park-esque sales numbers. Bands really don't start seeing any money until the record goes at least gold. Most money is made from concerts (for bands, at least -- the labels get tons off of CDs). It really only hurts independent artists much. Even still, though, I highly doubt that downloads would be killing the industry, even if they did take away a ton of money. Most people don't download whole CDs unless they want to know whether they're going to buy it or not -- they download individual songs. Here's a tip, arists: don't make one hit song and 11 shitty songs for a CD. The things the RIAA is trying to do, though, are just insane. Want an idea of what I'm talking about? Check this out.
*coughselloutcough* Those damn anti-burning layers they put on "The Long Road" wouldn't let me play it in ANY of my cd players, and I bought it and returned it three seperate times. Will was saying him and his friends weren't having problems with the cd, so maybe it's just the Canadian copies? That or, Future Shop got a full shipment of messed up cds.
Unless you can just download a tour instead of buying tickets and going, they'll survive. Any artists who give in and say that downloading is taking away from them is either VERY greedy, or being a public puppet for the RIAA.
Chad really needs to go to This Site. As for the McDonald's thing...who really wants to support McDonalds (other then Justin Timberlake)? Last time I ate at McDonald's I got sick after two bites of a cheeseburger. Haven't touched anything from them since.
If you've ever been near a McDonalds kitchen, or even sometimes the restaurant, it smells like piss and barf. No joke. Their grease is disgusting.
Mcdonalds was great when i was a kid but as i got older it has become less and less appealing to me. Maybe its because i actually understand what i'm eating now. Also, as we are on the subject of Mcdonalds, all of these new marketing campaigns are really pissing me off.
someone on the LPU posted that they heard a mcdonalds commercial with Mike Shinoda...kinda weird...i mean its like the highest form of selling out, endorsments that is...
Duh, of course now. Mike likes Burger King. [/b][/quote] Mike Shinoda would do a McDonalds commercial the day Chester grows DD breasts and Brad undergoes a sex change. Seeing how that'll never happen, it's smart to believe that person on the LPU was full of sh*t. Besides, a lot of people sound somewhat like Mike when they talk.
Downloads aren't killing the music industry, its just more and more of these sellout bands are getting so greedy that when some kid downloads their album and they lose maybe 5 cents, if that, they notice it and bitch and moan about it
Actually, I'm pretty sure they don't even lose 5 cents if you download one of their songs. I'm not even sure if you could say they lose 1 cent for every song downloaded and be correct -- since most artists only make about 10 cents per CD sold or so.
