Hey guys I just got a new cellphone for Christmas, the Samsung SGH A747, the newest Samsung model and I have AT&T so I'm very excited.

There's pics below but anyway my question is - is there a way for me to connect my phone to my computer? I'm trying to get free ringtones, like I want to edit a 30 second No More Sorrow clip or something and transfer it to my new phone and set it as a ringtone. I'm not good with cells yet since it's my first one (I'm good with computers though lol). I went online and searched for a coord that'd connect my phone to my USB port but I couldn't find one and I asked a friend and he said he doubts they even make them. So is there a way I can get like free ringtones or something or hook my phone up to my computer....?

All / any help is appreciated. Thanks!

Ebay is usually rather useful in finding these cables.

There should be a cord to it, i had a switchback from alltel and they said they never made a usb for it but i talked to someone for vigin mobiles version and they did have one. so they should have a usb cord for it. can you attach the song through a message and send it to it. worked for me in my sync A707.

didnt you get the cord when you bought the cell?

like tomi said - ebay is pretty good with stuff like that.

and as LPsoldier@73X said - you could try and attach the 30 second clip to a message.

or you could do what i did when i wasnt able to attach my phone to my PC (last resort), i got my mates to add the intro of SIB, or whatever, onto their phones by hooking it up to a PC. then using 'bluetooth' i was able to transfer the song over to my cell. its very very long winded this way though..

    [edit]:

    nice phone btw :)

Just make sure the end matches up with your phone, and provided it's samsung it should work with all phones. After that you can get a program called BitPim which is very useful for getting disk access on phones. You *might* (depending on provider) have to do what I did - dump the firmware, patch a byte and reupload it, but I doubt that would happen to get disk access, my provider just sucks. Anyway, as you can see the cables are about 6 bucks shipped so don't buy one from a cell store because those are 50$, and a cable is a cable.

AFAIK, BitPim only works with CDMA phones. AT&T is GSM, so that's a no go.

best option for now i guess could be the bluetooth.
i do it everytime now, because my bro and I now have razrs (suxs but ok) and when i make my music with the phone tools (only for motorola though) i just transfer to him through bluetooth.
so bluetooth could work if you know someone who has a phone he or she can put the music in, like jj87 said.
