I need to free up some much needed space on my harddrive but there's a problem. A lot of this stuff that I could delete to gain space is stuff I really don't wanna just get rid of. However, the problem with Windows' built in CD burning software is that it makes a same size copy of the file it's trying to burn. So therefore, if I'm lacking space, there's absolutely no way I can make a CD of all the stuff I wanna get off my pc. Therefore my question is..is there ANY free CD burning software out there that burns the file directly to the CD and doesn't make a copy of it? If I could get around making a copy it'd help me out so much.
I'm pretty sure the CD burning software that comes with Realplayer works just fine...before I formatted my computer I burned off a bunch of stuff then deleted it and my total used space eventually dropped to like 7 GB.
And realplayer burns more than just audio and video files? As long as it doesn't make a copy then I'm fine. I've been told Nero is good but it takes up WAY too much cd space.
Real Player worked. I burned so many things to CD and it made no copies, and now I have over a gig on my HD for the first time in years. Thanks . I still got a while to go, but at least I know I have a working program. Thread closed.
Well now that my PC actually has enough space to hold even the demo, just maybe. Yes folks, I am a pack rat.
