According to the Director of Programming for Microsoft's Gaming Network XBOX LIVE, Major Nelson, the release date for the Medal of Honor: Warfighter Multiplayer Beta will be October 5th. Linkin Park's upcoming music video for the song CASTLE OF GLASS, which will accompany the release of Medal of Honor: Warfighter, will be available five days later on October 10th or earlier if the Medal of Honor: Warfighter Multiplayer Beta reaches 3 Million Downloads. Gaming Blend reports that the Beta Testers will be trying out the Sarajevo Stadium map in an all-new capture/defend game mode called HotSpot. There will also be new features of the social platform also used in Battlefield 3: Battlelog that the Testers will get to try. The beta will only be available on XBOX 360. I know nothing about beta downloads for xbox. Does anyone think it's going to reach 3ml before the 10th?
Great news. I'm normally a person who doesn't have any interests in the music videos but that this caught my attention. Excited to say the least. I highly doubt that it's going to hit 2 million let alone 3. Many of the larger and more popular franchises often hit 2 million. With MoH being a recent reboot, I doubt it'd hit 3 million.

Well, Battlefield 3 had 8 million total beta downloads in the span of a month or so, and that was on Xbox, PS3 and PC. So for this to reach 3 million from one platform in less than 5 days is a little ambitious.
They're probably hoping the huge 42 millions of LP fans (based on facebook users for example) will help on that just to try and unlock the video sooner. There are people who would do that I'm sure, just not that many.
There are some gamers out there that just want to try out new games for free. I remember when Halo 3's Beta went live. We killed the server. It's great marketing strategy, though... Beta tests make pre-orders increase. It helps the dev team fix bugs and have their servers tested and it helps the testers decide if they want to make a purchase.
