Personally, if I COULD vote I would strategically vote for Paul Martin's Liberals as they are the only party that can stop the growing onslaught of support for Stephen Harper's Conservatives. Despite their name they are nothing but racist neo-conservatives that would kiss President Bush's feet and destroy the sovereignty of Canada. Let's hope we as a country aren't dumb enough to fall for the slogan 'Lower taxes, better services' as the phrase itself is contradictory! Thats my opinion, now...who are you voting for? Let's get a debate going!
Whoever puts a promise in writing that Newfoundland receives 100% oil royalties and corporate income taxes, an increase of 70%, from our oil rigs, I'm voting for. I've heard a verbal commitment from Paul Martin, and the NDP and PC's have put it in writing, I believe. If Paul Martin puts it in writing, he's my candidate, if not NDP (just to make sure hte PCs don't get my vote, I know the NDPs won't win). I won't vote for the PC's because Steven Harper opposed our non-involvement in the Iraq war, and if he was Prime Minister and he decided to put our military (as pathetic as it is. ), our economy would be in shambles, just like the Americans.
gah i know nothing of politics and that stuff. when paul martin came to thompson, i decided to play badminton instead of go see him.
If I was in your same shoes, I probably would've too. Politics are boring. I just don't want to lose my vote. Gotta protect your interests.
Thompson?! Hahaha, that place kicks! Being from Winnipeg....I end up there every summer for fishing...and I'd agree, even in Thompson, playing badminton's more enjoyable than listening to politicians sling mud at each other. By the way, Hybrid Soldier, ........got the snowmobile ready for next winter yet? Sorry, couldn't resist... We're getting killed by skeeters again down here, so I guess I should shut up now....
Like the majority of Quebec people, I think I'd vote for Mister Duceppe (which you forgot in your poll, Odaton). At the French debate he was the one who attacked Martin on important points and he knew what he was talking about and most of all, I like his views on Quebec priovince ..... so yes, my vote would go to Gilles Duceppe. (But Maybe my vote's influenced by the fact that one of my elementary school's teacher is his wife :wth: )
Duceppe is just trying to block the government from doing anything. They say they represent our (Quebec's) interest, but all that is only bullshit. Funding for Quebec? Wait, if the Federal gives it, we can't accept it! That's how Duceppe thinks. Then, he's only daddy's son. He's the one always yelling in the House of Commons, and is disrespectful towards everyone. You know, I think more than ever no party is particulary appealing. However, my vote would go to the Liberals. Here's why : Martin knows how to manange money. Conservatives elected means no minister from Quebec. I'm against the whole Conservative ideas, minus Defense (we do must inject money into our army) Duceppe, as I said, does nothing for Canada Layton has no credibility.
If you can vote on Monday, I strongly urge you all to vote Liberal. There's nothing wrong with our government as it is right now, other than this sponsorship scandal that has been blown way out of proportion, and having Steven Harper as Prime Minister would destroy our country, in my opinion. Harper wanted to go to war, which would have destroyed our economy, just as the Amercians economy is in shambles now. Do we really need a defecit like that? Harper is also homophobic and wants to ban homosexual marraige. Quoting a Liberal commercial; "Steven Harper said that when he's done with Canada, we won't be able to recognize it. He's right." Alot of Western Canada says that because of our strenuous relationship with the Americans caused by Martin's decision to stay out of the war in Iraq, the Amercinas closed the border to Canadian beef. Uh, no. Mad cow disease caused that. The ban has since been lifted anyways. That was a smart decision by the American government. No matter what our relationship with the Americans, they would've closed the border. It's the Western farmers' fault for not checking their products, not the Liberal government. (Source) Approval Graph for candidates: http://www.cbc.ca/canadavotes/thepolls/index.html# It's currently 27% Martin, 25% Harper. I have never been this terrified about the outcome of an election. Michael Moore's say: http://www.cbc.ca/story/election/national/...oore040624.html Ralph Nader's say: http://www.cbc.ca/story/election/national/...nada040624.html They've got good points. They voice my fears. And for the love of god, if you're voting NDP just to spite the Liberals and PCs, don't do it. You're only taking potential votes from the Liberals.
Sadly, I'm gonna have to wait for the next elections to voice my opinions. I totally agree with you Mark, and those days everyone's vote really matters.
If the NDP had any creditbility, I'd vote for them. Right now I'm voting by one thing; ANYTHING BUT CONSERVATIVES.
Thompson?! Hahaha, that place kicks! [/b][/quote] i need a snow mobile! did you hear there was snow in transcona a few days ago when it was raining randomly? If I could vote i'd vote for Liberal after reading Mark's post. I definately dont want Canada to go to war.
Pass it on to people who can vote. That's what I'm doing. I shouted out "Vote Liberal!" after I saw Fahrenheit 9/11 tonight.
It's not about not going to war. IT'S ABOUT NOT GOING TO DUMB WARS. Afghanistan is a worthy war. North Korea, in the event it keeps on threatening the U.S. with nukes (and who gets the fallout? The neighbors to the north) would also be a worthy, but really costly war.
Exactly. After seeing Fahrenheit 9/11 a few hours ago, it really re-affirms the whole pointlessness of the war.

I live in Canada and I find it wierd that the younger generation seems so anti-conservative (me included). I think the P.c.'s are going to be in trouble when we turn 18. Edit: Also I think we need a majority government, if we don't have one our country will go no where.
If the PC's win the election, and take a minority government, that takes a massive chunk out of many choices they'd be willing to make. Such as, you know, joining the US on the next helpless country they bomb without proof.
So far, mostly wins for the Liberal Party in the Atlantic Provinces (NF, NS, NB, PEI) and losses for the Conservatives. Liberal - 22 Conservative - 7 NPD - 3 Quebec, Ontario, Alberta, Manitoba and Saskatchewan are next. Quebec is gonna go to the Bloc Quebecois mostly, and Ontario is gonna be the turning point.
