Warner Music Germany has now confirmed that the "Non-album track" on the Breaking The Habit single will only be "Crawling" from the Reading Leeds Festival back in 2003. Fans should not be entirely disappointed as the band has stated in several interviews that new music is on its way and that a new song could possibily be premiered at this year's Projekt Revolution.

We apologize for getting everyone's hopes up and we can only hope that Linkin Park will hold their promise about releasing new music towards the end of the year. Please note that we were acting upon information from an official source, a source that has never been wrong before.

Well the only good way to look at this, is to believe that since Linkin Park are taking months to release new material, despite the fact they have been writing since early fall is that they are probably spending extra time to polish up the new material and make sure the lyrics and everything are perfected to the best of their abilities.

Sure its a long shot, but Meteora took 18 months to make and look at all the backlash it received because of the lyrics. Many people overlooked the risks the band took on the album and instead focused on how the lyrics were too polished, stating that they tried too hard to make another hit album as well as a lot of other stuff that Linkin Park surely couldn't avoid.

Many of you might not remember this but Mike said we could expect a followup to Meteora is in Summer of 2005 at the earliest. The fact that they could end up spending more then 20 months working on a followup record to Meteora proves that they are trying their hardest to not release a 3rd album that simply put...sucks.

I could be saying things that are false, and sure all the claims against Linkin Park could secretely have truth behind them, but the fact that they are going to release a bunch of new songs at the end of the year instead of simply making us wait over two years for new material (like they did with Hybrid Theory) makes me think that they still care about the fans and don't want to make them have to listen to the same records over and over again for the next three years.

Just remember what Chester said in an LPU chat once "If we #### up on this record, we'll more than make up for it on the next one." Something tells me that if they are going to do that, they will have to take some major risks which they probably already know.

I don't think that's going to happen. Chester thinks Meteora is the greatest thing since sliced bread for some reason.

Yeah but slice bread is overhyped, just like Meteora.

    Well, that's a piss-off. Stupid Warner Bros Germany. A live song isn't a b-side. Ugh.

chester worked hard on the record. and if he thinks the ways he does well fair do's. even chester can have an opinion - just think... you spend 18 months of your life to try and make people happy (us the fans) and people say or its rubbish, that must be soul destroying. so if chester likes the album, thats fair enough, just let him have his own opinion

Just a question but, do you think they know the majority of their fan base don't like Meteora?

I really expect something like this. when I heard that they want to release a new song, I was just confused, cause they never did something like this. the fact that linkin park released now 5 tracks off of an 35 minutes album is bullshit enough.

meteora...sorry dont get me wrong, but its just sucks. its simply the same story as hybrid theory. hybrid theory....probably one of the best records ever in the rock/metal scene, I can listen to it over and over again and I never get bored, cause these songs are very creative and so emotional, that they make me fall into a little trance.

meteora...always the same ####... guitars-verse-chorus-verse-break-shouting-chorus and this repeats through the entire record. chester said that "meteora is the heaviest and darkest record we've ever made.". What? there is too much rap, too much electronic, too much of that, what linkin park dont need. but its just my opinion.

It was recently said that they are using "Breaking the Habit" as a blueprint for the sound of the new album.
