So now that the album is starting to leak what are your thoughts? i'm only 10% so i'll post my thoughts later but i've heard most of the Diary of Jane acoustic and it is absolutely beautiful. And i think it is a must when buying the cd to get in early to get this track.
I've just listend to the acoustic version of "The Diary Of Jane" and it was amazing, in my opinion. And for the rest of the album, I absolutely love it. ;D
Havent listened to the album but I listened to the acoustic version of TDOJ and it is amazing! About to listen to the rest of it now and will post thoughts later tomorrow.
Great cd all the way through. Hybrid Theory has been bumped from #1 on my all time fav list to the Deuce
Just started listening to the album. I'd waited to hear 'The Diary of Jane', and I really like it. Right now I'm on 'Breathe'. Sounds great so far!
I'm listening to the acoustic verison of 'The Diary of Jane', but for some reason it's not hitting me as amazing, as the normal version is. I guess it's just not my style; the whole slow piano feel. =\ I must be hearing things, but am I the only one who's hearing strange background sounds in 'Outro'?
I havent gotten through the whole thing. The CD wasn't what I expected but that's not necessarily a bad thing. It's got great instrumentals, a couple key-songs that make the CD great...a nice balance of tracks. Overall, Breaking Benjamin = Good Music.
I've now listened to the album the full way through and cant begin to tell you how awesome I think this album is. Ben is definetly the heart and sole of this band (IMO) and he soars on this album although there is some incredible instrumental work. The balance between hard and soft sounds fits the album perfectly.I will definetly be picking this up when it is released in Australia wich is usually along time after it is said to be released. For example we have still yet to get the Lostprophets new release. I hope this album and single 'Diary of Jane' bring Breaking Benjamin the succces they deserve.
I just did a first listen of the whole album (well except TDOJ since I've listened to it ad nasueum). Right now, I need a couple more listens to let it sink in, but this is a really good CD so far. Like with most people said, the heavy balances out the soft and it makes for an ecletic mix which sounds amazing.
Ehhh... just more of "We Are Not Alone" for the most part. Too bad they'll probably never go back to their "Saturate" style.
It's acoustic yes, but I bet you were thinking that there were gonna be some acoustic guitars. Same here.
Have to disagree... the album's far from awesome, which is why I said that. Is not a bad album by any means, it's just... bland. I don't want to say too "commercial" because normally I hate when people say that, but it is. Breaking Benjamin's better than this. Maybe it'll just take a few days to grow on me ("We Are Not Alone" grew on me, even though I like "Saturate" more), I don't know. I'll just go run or something and then come back and play it again.
I happen to think it's amazing. Probably their best work yet. Who cares if it doesn't sound like Saturate? It doesn't need to.
In my opinion, this album doesn't seem as radio oriented as WANA was. Yes, there are a couple songs that I could see hitting radio huge, but that's it. And besides, to me Breaking Benjamin is one of those rare bands that never ceases to amaze me, everything they touch turns to gold for me. EDIT: Plus, if you want it to sound like Saturate, tough shit. They probably found their niche and if you don't like it...listen to Saturate, man. That will never go away. I'm not trying to sound like a prick either.
