I believe you posted it in the past. It's not fun anymore and it doesn't contribute anything to the thread whatsoever.. Sometimes randomness and cheekiness is welcome to any thread but don't expect the exact same thing to have the same effect it did before, it gets old. If you want a place to express your love for turtles or just come up with random stuff, this thread might be for you.
I'd like that actually. I mean, of course I don't want an album consisting of 12 GATS, and it sure won't be the case anyway, but more cohesion overal would be welcome. Especially with LT, I though the record was too much all over the place and lacked a clear focus. That's probably my main problem with the album.
I personally think the songs come together okay on "Living Things". I think that it's a cohesive album but I'm not sure about how "focused" it is Anyway, if this upcoming album is largely heavy rock songs, that'll be a very different kind of cohesion, in my opinion, which would indeed be welcome.
How? The only songs I could say were a bit similar in the album were BID, IMR, and IBG ( Other than the structures of some of the songs), but none were exactly alike, its not as if BID = LITE = COG = VICTIMIZED
Poor LIVING THINGS, I still love you! I thought there was a good ratio of loud and soft songs on it, and I'd like to think album #5 follows suit. (Except longer!)
I'm really interested to see how the rest of this album pans out. I didn't really know what to think when I first heard GATS. After the second listen, it really grew on me. I don't think it's the best song they have ever made, but it's far from the worst in my opinion. While I don't think this revolutionary, it's nice to see them take this approach. It's a pleasant surprise. Very, very anxious to listen to the rest of the album. I also hope this album gets more promotion than LT did.
So, Andreina was correct by telling you to stay on track and your complete disregard of her advice, as well as lauging at her warning to you, has earned you an official warning for disrespect. As noted by Andreina, Double posting is not allowed on these forums. You have the ability to edit your own post. Use it.
"Guitar-heavy" album? So Brad put on some muscle and is using heavier guitars or there will be a stronger focus on guitars this time around?
Sweet! A warning! And this album is going be heavy. Many interviews they describe it as rock and loud
People didn't judge LT's sound based on BID. They judged LT's lack of inspiration, less experimentation and the overall 'playing-it-safe' road they decided to take after A Thousand Suns. BID may not have exposed LT's sound, but it did a damn good job at telling people what to expect.
This. For me, there's only a few songs from Living Things that have any staying power (Castle of Glass, Tinfoil+Powerless, Skin To Bone.) Lost in the Echo was the best of the first-half LT tracks. If anything, I'm looking forward to LP6 more purely because of the fact that the band and music actually seems inspired.
The amount of mediocre songs on LT is too damn high! Now. I really hope this next album has more experimentation with song structures, I think ATS had great direction and an evolution of that would be awesome.
