http://www.superherohype.com/news.php?id=9188 Quoting myself from the comments section: "I see a lot of people in distress about how this could be another "DB:E", but that was a movie from FOX studios. This is WB we're talking about. Depending on the budget, and creative team, we could be in for a live action anime adaptation with the SFX of the Matrix Trilogy's caliber. Hopefully the script doesn't deviate too far from the original work. Everything about Bleach is incredibly simple to push into live action. On a side note, this may very well be WB's competitive edge against 20th Century FOX's 'The Last Airbender' at the box office. I actually see WB pushing for a faithful aesthetic presentation for 'Bleach'. Bring it on!" ..and if this proves to be a success, maybe we'll see a reboot of DragonBall in the coming decade
It is gonna be epic fail, it goes the same like Dragonball Evolution, but somehow I want to see this movie XD
Aesthetically they can pull it off. The film is being distributed by Warner Bros. I'm thinking it's going to helm some pretty awesome concepts brought to life, whether they be derived from 'Bleach' or not. To illustrate: WB presented: The Matrix Trilogy Speed Racer (people find it horrid, but it's very close to it's anime counterpart) V For Vendetta The Dark Knight etc. FOX studios: Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li Dragonball: Evolution X-Men Origins: Wolverine ..See where I'm getting at here? Additionally, WB is also churning out an AKIRA film as well. Should be interesting to see how these two films will fare in the near future.
I'm just ready for the actors of Bleach to be caucasian. Because it'll happen. It's fucking horrible. Also, Akira. Neo-Tokyo will obviously mean white guys on motorcycles. I've lost faith in all anime adaptation since Dragonball blew, Speed Racer blew, The Last Airbender was cast white (even though everyone in the movie is specifically of asian decent, even with the protests), and Keanu Reeves was confirmed to play Spike Spiegel. I mean, I'll still end up seeing it but I'm setting myself up for disappointment. EDIT: I mean, for crying out loud. They better not fuck this up. I don't see how you can pass off characters named Ichigo Kurosaki, Rukia Kuchiki, Orihime Inoue, or Uryū Ishida as anything other than Japanese. Spike Spiegel I can understand as being universal. Jet Black, sure. Aang, not so much. Goku, don't get me started. I mean it's bad enough that Goku was cast as a teenager when he was a kid. And then to rub it in everyone's faces by making virtually everybody else asian.
