ummm no. the US should do anything to prevent a terrorist attack. even if they have to negotiate with terrorists.

Didn't Bush say that when he announced the victory the US won in Iraq, like 3 years ago?

The title of the article says they've already rejected it.

I can't help but have a bad feeling about that.

There would be bad side effects for both decisions, I just hope they made the right one.

It doesnt look too good, in my opinion, the UN or Bush or whoeva should take that truce. Its way better then throwing more men into the front and getting them killed or run the risk of people at home getting killed by terrorist bombings.

Maybe so but, how many times has Bin Laden threatened only to do absolutely nothing? I'm starting to not even be phased by these 'possible terrorist attack' warnings.

Not many people are taking these threats very seriously now...I mean, remember Inaugoration Day for Bush's second term? They were so paranoid about it, and nothing happened.

That's probably a method they use, make so many threats that people stop noticing them then when we least expect it they attack. That's what it was certainly like when the bombs went off here in London.

As for a truce, there is no such thing as a truce between the US and Al Quieda, I'd like there to be, but the past can't simply be forgotten with a few words.

As for 9/11, I'd still say it's debatable over who was actualy responasble.

i am extremely angered by this. if bush and bin laden had not randomly attacked people and talked things out before acting like children then we wouldn't be in the situation we are in. and now he wants a truce because he is scared, and i understand that because i would be doing the same if i were in his situation watching my country being blown up. but it also angers me because bush is blowing him off. i saw on the news that one guy said that "we do not negotiate with terrorists" and that pissed me off. to the afghanis, WE are the terrorists. people need to be more civilized. at least bin laden is putting himself out there, i am sure that the taliban is not happy with his decision but they see that it is something that needs to be done before we all destroy each other.

I dunno if im allowed to say this. But during the Iraq War i like what the americans did. They straight away went over their to try and stop the iraqis from doing all that shit to the U.S. And wen the london underground bombings happened tony blair straight away went searching and busted those people. see these guys they took action.the problem is there wasnt any consistancy and they didnt keep going and there is still the threat. I noe that the U.S is continuen having troops over there but there not fighting for the sake to end it there fighten to keep the country from goin crazy keeping the balance. I beleive the U.S and any of its allies should go overe there in a mass search bigger than b4 to find these guys b4 it happens ag. I feel strong about this cuz i live in sydney and its sed that Australia has a massive chance of being targeted the next bombings and if it happened in sydney harbour were screwed. So i say go over their with thousands of troops and stop this....

The Iraqis never did anything to the US! The Iraqis were never planning to do anything to the US.

It's true that the Iraqis didn't do anything to the US after Sept 11., but whose to say they weren't planning to? Personally I think the reasoning behind the Iraq War was a bunch of bullshit.

I don't believe the Iraqi government was planning something. As far as individual citizens in Iraq? Sure, I bet a few had something up their sleeve. But I bet there's an American citizen living in the US planning an attack on US soil (The right wing needs to realize that you don't have to be middle eastern to attack the US...look at Timothy McVeigh). The actions of a few citizens aren't justification for war....if we were going to bomb Iraq because a few citizens were planning an attack on the US, we'd have to wipe out every country, including ourselves.
