So since "A Light That Never Comes" has been officially released, LP is finally back in the charts. However, "ALTNC" is off to a slow start, as it's the first lead single since "Numb/Encore" not to debut within the Top 40 of the Hot 100. Linkin Park, however, is still steady in the Social 50, as they never left the chart since its inception years ago.

    "A Light That Never Comes"
    Hot 100 Songs: #65
    Digitial Songs: #23
    Alternative Songs: #19
    Rock Songs: #11
    Rock Digital Songs: #5
    Rock Airplay: #15
    Canadian Hot 100: #63

    Linkin Park Social 50: #34

Since both are lead singles only for a remix-album, that's ok I guess. But you know, the Hot 100 isn't a good place for debuting singles as they don't really get airplay in the first week. As you said, it's #23 at Digital Songs. I also remember that Burn It Down peaked in the top ten of the iTunes chart but only debuted at #30 of the Hot 100.

btw it's not even true what you said.
    Somewhere I Belong entered at #47, Numb/Encore at #86.

#30 is considerably good since it's within the Top 40. And also thanks for the info on SIB and N/E. Totally forgot also that POA never charted on the Hot 100. :p

Well Coldplay's latest single Atlus debuted at 69 and the new Imagine Dragons single Monster debuted 78. Both of those bands are bigger sellers than LP right now.

I'm wondering if Recharge can take #1 spot like the last 5 LP albums incl. CC. There's an Arcade Fire release in the same week and the new Katy Perry album in the previous week.

I think it'll debut #4 behind Arcade Fire, Katy Perry and Kelly Clarkson. Or maybe #3 beating out Clarkson. Both ways, I don't think it has a chance at #1.

I've been thinking the same thing. I think their biggest threat is Katy Perry staying #1 for two weeks. The Kelly Clarkson album is a christmas album so that won't sell as much as one of her usual albums and I think that they can beat out Arcade Fire, sure they are critical darlings but they are not big sellers.

Is a remix album really going to be that big?

It could. LP won a Grammy Award of a remix album of sorts in 2006.

Not really, it was Numb/Encore, which was a mash-up, which is why I said remix album of sorts.

What I mean is that they were nomimated for the one song, not the EP as a whole.

Can we expect ALTNC to make it to the Top 10 in Billboard 100??

They haven't had a Top 10 single since "New Divide". And that was ages ago.
