Billboard Top 200 Albums Minutes To Midnight - #52 (Last week - #47) Billboard Modern Rock Tracks Bleed It Out - #5 (Last week - #6) Shadow of the Day - #10 (Last week - #11) Billboard Mainstream Rock Tracks Bleed It Out - #12 (Last week - #9) The story of this week's Billboard charts is much like what has transpired over the last few weeks out of the top fifty to #52. Minutes To Midnight continues to fall down the albums charts, this week falling five spots. "Bleed It Out" continues to confuse chart-watchers on the Modern Rock charts, this week jumping one spot despite a two-spot drop last week. The single fell three spots on the Mainstream Rock charts. Lastly, "Shadow of the Day" continues it's slow rise up the Modern Rock charts, jumping one spot to #10.
It's the highest selling CD worldwide, and the highest selling non-soundtrack CD in the US so far (second to HSM overall). For some better news, sales increased by 16% this week. Hopefully a few low debuts will fall past them next week so they can climb back into the top-50.
So they're selling more, but do to a number of debuts the album is still falling? Still something to be proud of, imo.
Yeah, pretty much. They've consistently sold between 17K and 21K for the past 6 or 7 weeks, so their chart positions have mostly been determined by the number of albums debuting above them relative to the number of albums falling below them in any given week. During the summer, when fewer new albums were coming out, 20K would've been enough for top-40.
