Linkin Park - Minutes To Midnight The White Stripes - Icky Thump Amy Winehouse - Back To Black Jennifer Lopez - Como Ama Una Mujer Bon Jovi - Lost Highway
1. Linkin Park - Minutes to Midnight 2. The Used - Lies for the Liars 3. The White Stripes - Icky Thump (heard it on triple J, sounded pretty interesting) To come: Taproot, Adema, Sum 41, Kisschasy, Kaiser Chiefs, QOTSA, Madina Lake. If anything else comes along someone will have to be kicked out of my future top 10.
1. The Used- Lies for the Liars 2. Linkin Park- Minutes to Midnight 3. Fall Out Boy- Infinity on High 4. LoveHateHero- White Lies 5. Good Charlotte- Good Morning Revival 6. Anberlin- Cities 7. Paramore- Riot! 8. Madina Lake- From Them, Through Us, To You 9. Timbaland- Shock Value 10. Sick Puppies- Dressed Up as Life The Top 5 were so easy to get into that it kind of scares me that I might not be paying due attention to the rest of my Top 10. So, I expect my Top 5 to stay intact until Silverstein in July, and if not then Blaqk Audio and Emanuel in August. That is, unless I really get into Anberlin, Paramore or Madina Lake. Final thought: I bought The Almost's album and it's the only purchase I regret making this year.
01 :: Alkaline Trio - Remains 02 :: The White Stripes - Icky Thump 03 :: Chevelle - Vena Sera 04 :: Nine Inch Nails - Year Zero 05 :: Queens of the Stone Age - Era Vulgaris 06 :: Bad Religion - New Maps of Hell 07 :: Linkin Park - Minutes to Midnight 08 :: Explosions in the Sky - All of a Sudden I Miss Everyone 09 :: Minus the Bear - Planet of Ice 10 :: Brand New - The Devil and God Are Raging Inside Me What's up with Fall Out Crap in everyone's top 10? Ewww.
Brand New came out last year. And IOH is a masterpiece. If you don't like it then you don't like music.
*snickers* I don't have a top 10 per-say yet, But i liked Within Temptation's new album. Drowning Pool's (i heard a preview of it) is disappointing as usual. It's just not the same without Dave Williams.
I was going to say, that was an incredibly ignorant statement. Anyway, it seems I'm running into lots of mediocre albums this year.
And you must be closed-minded. Are you scared because all the stereotypes that are attached to them? If you gave the new Linkin Park a chance and vouched for their new album so much then I don't know why you won't give Fall Out Boy a good listen. Because if you did, I'm sure it would be towards the top of your list.
Oh my god, man. ! I listened to their album, actually liked it, but that album got older quicker than anything else I've heard this year. I'm loving the fact you're assuming I didn't give these guys a chance when I listened to the album. I liked some of FUCT, and I liked this album. But I can only tolerate this band in small doses because their music becomes monotonous and stale rather quickly. Perhaps you should keep the wild assumptions and accusations to yourself, because you're wrong. My qualm was not with the band or the album, but with your statement: Where the hell do you get off saying "if you don't it then you don't like music". That's a little elitist and strong to me. Seems like an ignorant and superfluous statement to make. And "a masterpiece"? That's a strong word to peg anything. Masterpiece is a term that should not be loosely thrown around. I've called certain albums masterpieces, but usually people agree with me on them. I don't know how an album from a pop-punk band without that much insightful to say or oodles of talent can be called a masterpiece. But I guess it's all personal opinion. I and the 4 or 5 other people in the thread seem to disagree. Any further comments or replies can be directed to my inbox. Let's get back on topic, people.
