I sat in a chair at the counter Asked for a glass filled with water She smiled and walked off And came back half empty The glass was full Yet in her eyes she was missing I looked a few paces over And there was the owner His hands held tight And his face was real bright I looked back to her and said "I know life is tough, are you alright"? She didn't answere It was like she wasn't even there Her mind must have been in a field Where battle rages on where flowers live Because someone so beautiful will always be Especially amongst confliction and confusion I didn't dare tell her what I was thinking But I am sure if I did I would have made her day And just maybe she would have felt more than okay
