Batman: Arkham Knight is the third and final installment of Rocksteady's Arkham series, which began with Arkham Asylum and Arkham City, and spun off with the WB Montreal-developed Arkham Origins. It is only available for Xbox One, PS4 and Windows. *The area is five times as big as Arkham City. *It is set one year after Joker's death, and it is the peak of Batman's abilities. It's also Halloween. *There is no multiplayer. *Gordon and Oracle are back to assist. Oracle is no longer a voice. *Kevin Conroy returns as Batman. *The Batmobile is drivable and bulletproof, and can be sent to Batman as he lands from flying. And it also rotates on the spot. And it scares off some goons. *Scarecrow is the main antagonist. He forms an alliance with Penguin, Harley Quinn, Two Face and Riddler to kill Batman. *There's a new villian, the Arkham Knight, created by DC and Rocksteady, that is like a futuristic Batman. *Scarecrow has fear toxin and bombs throughout Gotham, which is evacuated, leaving only criminals and police. *There's a makeshift Batcave in Gotham Clock Tower. *Batman can open grates from far away. *Batman can do environmental attacks. *Batman can throw Batarangs while gliding. *Batman can do MULTIPLE TAKEDOWNS CONSECUTIVELY (as long as he's not spotted). Oh yeah - I was too lazy to create this thread/thought it was somewhere burrowed in The Living Room The Arkham games are amongst a rare breed whose epic trailers really showcase an epic game, and not just for advertising purposes.
! Trailer looks amazing, but I probably won't get around to playing it like all the other Arkham games haha
BTW, is this really the final game. Is it really? Because it seems like sequels are all thats left. I mean I'm exaggerating a little, but not much. I'd put money on seeing more.
I'm not a huge fan of the Batsuit, but that's never really been an issue in the Arkham games. I do appreciate that it looks like a cross between the DC Universe Online suit and the one from Injustice: Gods Among Us. I hope there are other 'skins' for the Batmobile, too. The one from Arkham Asylum (you can see it iin the Batcave challenge map in City) is my favorite Batmobile from any medium.
I don't see where you're seeing a DCUO connection at all and, if anything, the Arkham suit (singular as Batman simply upgrades the default suit) influenced the Injustice suits, particularly the Insurgency variation.
You know, that's a fair assessment. I didn't want to post a video just for a shot that's a couple of seconds tops, but check out this video at 1:45. That's what the new Arkham suit reminded me of. For some reason, the 'armor' look bothers me, here. It's really busy looking--and I'm one of the people that actually really liked the plated armor thing from The Dark Knight. In all honesty, I think my only complaint (read: nitpicking) is that it feels a lot more like Iron Man than Batman. It's not bad, or wrong, it just kinda bothers me. Not quite my aesthetic.
Rocksteady said they wanted this to be the conclusion of their trilogy. They couldn't meet the two-year deadline so WB Montreal made Arkham Origins as a filler game, with a bit of guidance from Rocksteady.
I wonder if the end of Arkham Origins hinted to Knight, or Arkham Origins as the beginning of a new trilogy.
Haha, that actually makes sense. In the suit's defense, armor has a higher chance of stopping bullets and from a design standpoint, they've stated it was to fall more in like with the Batmobile's look. Because they are one
