"Backroads & Roadtrips" Won't you take a trip with me Down those old dirt roads we used to know Driving out past the old mill Where the smell of sawdust filled our lungs Do you remember the songs We used to sing just to pass the time The steering wheel was our mic And the car tires were our only stage We'll never be that young again All we can do is Think back on the memories we made I want to feel that young again So won't you please just Please just take one last roadtrip with me I can still remember it The night I told you just how I felt The air was frigid yet warm Your lips seemed to take it all away The bonfire we made was Well, it was such a sight to see now I can still smell the ashes Of our love burning on that cold night We'll never be that young again All we can do is Think back on the memories we made I want to feel that young again So won't you please just Please just take one last roadtrip with me And now I'm just I'm just counting down the minutes Counting down the minutes Until I can be with you again And now I'm just I'm just counting down the minutes Counting down the minutes Until I can be with you again Sing We'll never be that young again All we can do is Think back on the memories we made I want to feel that young again So won't you please just Won't you please just Take one last We'll never be that young again All we can do is Think back Think back on the memories we made I want to feel that young again So won't you please just Won't you please just Please just take one last roadtrip with me As I sit here Praying for something that I will never forget I'll dry my tears Waiting for something, something that is so perfect Something perfect And now I'm just I'm just counting down the minutes Counting down the minutes Until I can be with you again I'm just counting down the minutes Counting down the minutes Counting down the minutes Until I can be with you again
I like it it really takes you to that place i think it has a bit of a Nickelback feel with the sing behind the steering wheel that's what it reminded me of ... it's great
It's really good. It does remind me of Nickelback, most of it. I think the chorus really fits in well.
I didn't even have Nickelback in mind when I wrote this song. But I guess it's cool that it reminds people of them. Maybe. But thanks for the comments.
