That's pretty awesome. I'm getting pissed off that it's 5 days until this album is released and it still hasn't leaked.
The album releases in just over 2 HOURS here in Australia! SUPER EXCITED! I'll be dancing all the way until Saturday morning!
A bunch of EDM has different elements from all sorts of genres. In "Wake Me Up" I heard a bluegrass song and then I heard an EDM song, then it repeats that structure one more time. They were just pasted together for the most part. This is what EDM does. The really impressive artists are ones that blend the elements together and don't just double the formula to get a song that it twice as long. EDM shouldn't get praise for going (Different element verse-chorus/EDM drop)*2. It's superrrrrr standard. Dubstep does the same thing in a lot of songs. If I hear some songs that aren't formulaic and don't sound like they have different genres pasted together I'll be thrilled.
I think he was trying to emphasize the departure Avicii made to make this album. He imported guitars, country music, an orchestra, rock bands, a banjo and kazoo and every single other thing in the universe that you really don't associate with EDM. The songs on True are much more than just a different verse/chorus. People actually attacked Avicii for playing this music at Ultra in Miami! I mean, when was the last time you heard the kazoo as an instrument you "drop" with?
I agree with this. He's not trying to reinvent the EDM genre, he's just providing a fresh take on it by incorporating elements that are typically foreign to EDM. Props to him for releasing something different and not just releasing a cookie-cutter EDM album.

Is there a place where I can stream his music? I just heard Wake Me Up today and I think it's interesting. EDIT: Nevermind, found him in Xbox music.
