Audioslave Reveal Their Soul Side Chris Cornell dips into R&B, family life on "Revelations" http://www.rollingstone.com/news/st...3368832355&has-player=true&version=6.0.12.872 Sounds good, can't wait for this latest Chris Cornell production. I worship the man.
Kick ass. I hope this is good. Pretty awesome that at least one band doesn't take 3 years between albums.
Was that a joke? I hope so. It was 3 years in between S/T and Out of Exile, wasn't it? Cool stuff, hope it rocks as much as Out Of Exile. I don't like the change, Out Of Exile's sound was so good.
I hope it's not half-assed. Rumor going 'round was the label was mad "Out Of Exile" didn't push more records than it did.
Out Of Exile is a top 5 album of mine. I absolutely love it. Self-titled was incredible too! Anything Cornell and Morello do is gold. I'm sure this new sound will own.
Well they definately picked the wrong singles for Out of Exile. Be Yourself and Your Time has Come were the two weakest tracks from the album. Hopefully they pick stronger singles this time around.
LMAO!!!!! Thats why oyu dont have a job with a record label. PS. Those songs kick so much ass anyhow, even if they have the mainstream appeal to them.
Be Yourself was way to cheesy for a rock band to ever catch on and YTHC sounded like a re-hashed Cochise. I would have gone for Doesn't Remind Me and Heaven's Dead instead as first two singles.
Skywalker is right. Be Yourself and YTHC were awful selections. Heaven's dead, Out Of Exile and Drown Me Slowly would have been better IMO. Doesn't Remind Me was a good pick though.
I would have to agree with Link and Sky, Be Yourself was really cheesy, hard to believe they came up with it even though i did find it kind of..."catchy" at first. But Doesnt Remind Me is the best selection out of the album that should have been released as a single...
I saw Be Yourself as a Like A Stone clone and Your Time Has Come as a Cochise clone. They went with what they know works. LP does the same thing. As far as single choice, Doesn't Remind Me is obvious but it can't be a lead single. I believe Man Or Animal has the edge and mainstream appeal for a lead single. 3rd single is too tough for me to choose.
Well I have the 3 songs they debuted on their tour last year, and I can say that they are all great. These are much better songs that BY and YTHC. They may have been altered, or perhaps not even on the album, but they are all sweet songs. Especially "One in the Same"
I can kind of see what he's talking about, the songs mentioned in the article aren't those songs so I'm not sure. One in the Same definately has a different vibe about it though than other 'slave songs. New Audioslave LP: 'Led Zeppelin Meets Earth, Wind & Fire' http://www.vh1.com/artists/news/1527383/03292006/audioslave.jhtml?_requestid=238288 Even more pumped now.
If an interview like that doesn't get you pumped for an album, then I don't know what will. I'm interested to see Cornell's lyrics on this political song "wide awake" (PM me If you want a small treat that relates to the new album)
