It does sound too Linkin Park-ish. 2:35 in the live video is absolutely beautiful though. I'd love if more of the song was like that.
I wasn't talking to you. Did I quote you? No. You must feel guilty (all the same) or something. You love everything, and that's fine. I bet you'd even put Chester's used toilet paper in a glass case with a museum light illuminating his poo. It's nothing. A Myth. While previous bands have released a song per week leading up to the release of a new album, LP has not (yet). Right now, it's something a core group are holding on to in order to get more tracks before the official release.
Really? I think the exact opposite. Honestly, as much as I LOVE faint and Mikes verse, I still listen to Jigga What/Faint often, and the transition from Jay Z's rap to Mikes is just... Meh. I don't really think rapping about how sad you are and how much you hate the world is a good thing. I like dominant rap, and Mike has been doing just that. I'LL BE GONE (Vice Remix Ft. Pusha T.) and SKIN TO BONE (remix) had Mike doing that, and it was perfect. I'd rather Mike take out his emotions through singing.
I don't know if it's the new genre they're pushing, but Linkin Park have never sounded more on song as a band before. Every element they bring to the table (guitar riffs, drumming, electronics, vocals) is bind together so crisp and so clean. I'm really loving this preview! The heavy elements and the fresh elements are coming together so much better than I had hoped. The State of Punk to Comes influence is really shining on this stuff and I couldn't be more stocked.
I'm not talking about lyrics. I'm just talking about his voice's tone/flow. But talking about lyrics: "More power, less people And yeah I'm not afraid of that (…) So no, I'm not afraid to see you suckas hold a blade to me, Aint no way to shake the ground I built before you came to be, Take it how you take it, I'm the opposite of vacancy, And this not negotiation, I can hear you, Wait and see..." Isn't this kind of lyrics enough?? "I'm I'm I'm", "Less people (fans), I'm not afraid to see you suckas hold a blade to me (fans)", "I'm the opposite of vacancy", "And this not negotiation, I can hear you (stop asking a HT2 I do what I want)". Meh. Such ego, much Mike, many fuck you fans, wow.
My thoughts, how dare they sound like themselves! My theory is this - I think because Linkin Park draws a lot of criticism nu-metal haters (a lot of people) their fans become self conscience and somewhat insecure about liking Linkin Park. Hence the over-analysing of lyrics/song structure. To put it blunt, just shuttup and enjoy the music, this song sounds fucking rad.. Linkin Park are not an awful band like some people say, they are quite talented musicians and are the biggest rock band in the world for a reason. Don't feel like you have to criticise everything they do so you don't 'look silly'.
I wouldn't call it "perfect" but, ever since "When They Come For Me", Shinoda's at least been going in the right direction.
I think it's funny that people would rather have Mike rap like he's on Meteora than anything since then (Fort Minor, Minutes to Midnight, A Thousand Suns). Y'all out of your damn mind?
Okay, I'll admit that sounded stupid What I meant by that is that is that it was too predictable and been there done that.
It's not that it's fast it's that it's predictable and repetitive. An example, Muse's album Origin of Symmetry is their heaviest album but close to being their best album. Meteora is probably LPs heaviest album that has been released but it sucks.
Haha. This should be the post of the month. If people criticize LP in front of me, I give them a "You've no idea what you're missing" response and walk away. I couldn't care less about what others think of LP. It is HILARIOUS when illiterates call them "sell outs" and mainstream for A Thousand Suns (their most non-mainstream record). Some people actually think Mainstream is a fucking genre and hence say LP is mainstream for changing their sound. I'm not kidding! They are that stupid. Just today, one guy was arguing on youtube saying LP became mainstream after Meteora. I'm like "What were they during Meteora?". His response was "nu metal". He went on to say how "mainstream" music started in the late 90s. I was laughing my ass off. Half of them don't realize how much they contradict themselves when they go on to speak highly of an album like Meteora.
