:-/ Way to overreact to ONE song man! The fact that you think ATS wasn't a good album speaks volumes, I suppose. Well, thank you for showing interest in LP. Come again.
Basically, everyone overhyped the song before listening to it. Also
I want LP to go Radiohead style and make a full on soft electronic album filled with Mike and Chester harmonies. Mike and Chester have such awesome voices and Mike is good at production, but Brad sucks on guitar, Dave doesn't do anything, Rob is awesome but gets buried and Joe just stands there.
Excuse me for being politically correct. Can you explain what you were actually saying, then? Because judging by what we're hearing, this track doesn't deviate from the album all that much.
You guys have read the track descriptions to the other songs, right? Because it honestly looks as though nobody did. We all knew going in that this wasn't going to be as aggressive as the other tracks. I agree with some of the complaints of the song itself, but allowing this song to make you lose hope for THP is ridiculous.
I kinda get what you're saying... EXCEPT that they shouldn't have gone further after MTM. ATS is kick-ass.
Considering A Thousand Suns followed Minutes To Midnight and was the closest Linkin Park has ever gotten to making "truly remarkable music" as you put it, I'm finding your entire argument very hard to believe. Also, if you're listening to Linkin Park in hopes that they will one day become the greatest musicians of all time, you're going to be quite disappointed. P.S. - holy wall of text.
Well he did say he's "heard it saida thousand times", and now he knows. So that's something. At least they know it's cliché. Nah, there's really no way around it. These lyrics suck.
I find the song to be quite enjoyable and definitely something I can replay. Problem is, soon enough I'll get tired of it. Whenever the band does a song where Chester does many "ohh"s and "ahh"s (see RU and STB) I find that it becomes very flat very soon. I'm not bashing the song, I'm enjoying it. It isn't as unique or as exhilarating as GATS, but it definitely holds a certain powerful sound that songs like LITE or WID don't have. Lyrically, I'm not very into the song. LP is capable of really good and intelligent lyrics, as evidenced in Burning In The Skies. I will remain optimistic that THP contains better lyrics. 7/10 for now.
This. Everyone was amped up for an atmospheric, softer song after the track descriptions, but as soon as that snippet of the chorus popped up everyone suddenly imagined something much heavier. Most of the negative reactions are rather ridiculous.
