I love how the lyrics of this song are a directed middle finger to those who say they have it so bad living in a first world country.
The chorus is absolutely perfect, the lower key that Mike sings in gives it a far more menacing feel then probably any other LP track, and for me the high pitched catchy choruses were getting too repetetive. A chorus doesn't have to be screamed to hit hard.
Wow, I LOVE this track from the start. Only wish Daron was also providing vocals on the song, but oh well. Love it, love it, love it.
I've come to the firm conclusion now that I HIGHLY prefer Mike's singing over Chester's, and have for quite some time now. We've had 3 albums to get over the novelty of him singing rather than rapping, and I still enjoy what he brings vocally over Chester. Sure, Chester has a more dynamic range, but something about Mike's timbre just sits right with me.
Good Lord Baby Jesus that was AWESOME. THIS is what I imagined when Mike started hyping the Hunting Party. I do however kind of feel uncomfortable calling this an LP song because this thing has Daron (probably literally) written all over it. This is also the first batch of lyrics I've truly really liked from them this cycle so I wonder if Daron helped write those too. either way, DEM RIFFS!!! SO satisfying hearing Mike and Chester over some great riffs again! Mike really shines vocally on this one!
It's not a bad song by any mean, but it is my least favorite to date (from THP). Though, my favorite is Until It's Gone so my music taste is probably a bit weird. By reading the description for each song, this was the one I was looking forward to the least. I guess it was better than I thought though.
I personally love the lyrics. To add my two cents: I really like guitar work and Mike's singing. I love the whole song. Best of the 4 so far. For me, every release has been better than the last: Rebellion>Wastelands>UIG>GATS. So by this logic FM will be the best of the 5 getting released before the album releases
That's exactly why I love the song. It reminds me of occupy and any of the social justice internet "campaigns."
Hyperbole much? I mean, it's okay not to like the song, but some of the things you say in here are objectively not true.
This. 100%, this. I love Mike's singing. It sounds genuine. That's the best way I can word it. When he sings, he sounds like he fucking means what he's singing about. Only the lyrics on the bridge are bad. The verse and chorus lyrics are amazing.
If I had just heard this on the radio I would never guess it's Linkin Park. Holy shit I need this album now!
