It was good. It was refreshing. It was a Linkin Park I had not expected and mixed well. Not my cup of tea but I can see why everyone is going buck crazy. This is more of a SOAD tease and it's making me want new SOAD.
I recently tried to enjoy SOAD but I found it really wasn't my cup of tea. Maybe others like the crazy as hell "Lalalala laaa's" but I really didn't care. Also, the melodies they write I don't like... Soo I was a little nervous for how this song would turn out for me, but I really love it! Imo it has the best parts that SOAD-music has to offer (menacing and hard guitarriffs) and added to that some LP deliciouness. I had to make a quick youtube rip to be able to play the song in my car on my way to work but let me tell you that I never have heard such an ass kicking 3.25 MB song.
I love this song. Not just on it's own. But, see, the whole Wastelands -> Until It's Gone -> Rebellion transition makes sense on a thematic level right now. Until It's Gone is almost like someone's naivete with that kind of cliche'd statement, and Rebellion is like someone saying "Hey, dude, the hell are you complaining about, the real problem's way over there! *Points at Wastelands* Let's stop pretending. Let's stop going "Poor Me". We've actually got it pretty fucking good here. Stop whining like babies."
WOO, finally! this is what I expected.. boy did LP + Daron deliver! Lyrics are meaningful, that element of SOAD was there with Mike's vocals.. and that bridge! wow, Chester is boss. If this is any indication of the rest of the album, i'm happy.
The album is getting a purchase I am determined. I wanna hear this in lossless NOW just for the harmonizing part.
After hearing this song again other than the listening party, I can say it's so much better than I was able to hear the first time.
I couldn't help myself, listened to the intro another time. Damn I thought GATS was fun to play on guitar, I can't wait to pick up that intro riff. It's so boss. KLJFAJFKLJHAS I can't believe this is an LP song, seriously.
Yeah but I would love to hear this live. Maybe they'll play it with a backing track and have him mime it lol
